Not to mention all the #### black marks from the tire. I hope it didnt mess anything else up. I am so PISSED!!!!!!!!!!! Now i need to get a new bumper but i cant spend my money on my car right now. I think the accord driver is legally liable for stuff that flies off his car.

No shit, I'd have his insurance pay for it. If they didn't, I'd sue.

That sounds about right. The accord could'nt help that there was a shredded tire in the middle of the road (probably from a semi) so don't go blamming the accord driver (even though he should have saw it earlier and swithed lanes to avoid it) the accord driver could just as easily turn around and say that you should'nt have been following so closely (not saying you were just pointing that out) anyway take this as a chance to upgrade <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I feel for you. thge other day I raninto a jeep cherokee from behind. I was only doing about 8-10 mph but he stopped right in the middle of the lane while I was checking traffic. Anyway, I got the square reciever for his hitch dug into my bumper and now there is a cut from three of the four sides of the hitch. ARRRRRRRRRGGH! anyway, I plan on getting a new bumper(maybe w/ the whole kit) anyway. for now though it looks aweful. Sorry to hear about your mishap. It isn't the accords fault either since it wasn't his tire. sucks though. good luck.

I once slammed into the curb and a pole with my old car. It was a little rainy, and the lady who was driving next to me decided to switch lanes. I wanted to avoid hitting her, so I slammed on my brakes and swerved to the right (probably the wrong thing to do in slippery weather). So, I hit the curb, broke my axle, had my bumper knocked off of the car, and the steering wheel was about 40 degrees offset. She just ran. I went to file a police report and guess what I was told:
"There was no vehicle contact, it was due to the cause of nature that you slammed into the curb."
Yes, and it's nature who paid me $1200 to get my axle fixed and alignment done. Nature of working my butt off, that is.
I got rid of the car a month later. After fixing all that.
So, yeah, fix and upgrade; get a new bumper.

I misunderstood then. I thought that the accord lost something itself, which would be the fault of that car because it hadn't been maintained properly.

first of all, i wasnt following closely because the tire was shot out under the accord at me, we were doing about 75. If the #### lady would pay attention to the road and at least make a effort to move i would have been able to switch lanes and not got hit. So if you understand, the tire was shot out under the accord and hit me.

hey transient, me n u had like the same view of this situation, but i also thought the tire was from the accord, it makes things different. but is still stupid cuz whoever lost their tire couldn't take the 2 seconds to take it or move it to the side of the road.

*sigh* reread my post I did'nt say you were following to close. I'm trying to say thats what the accord's insurance would say you were doing, but since you aren't going after the accord it does'nt even matter.
Blankflip: most of those shredded tires on Hi ways are from 18 wheelers, they don't even notice when they lose a tire, thats why you see so many on the road but no cars on the side of the road.

Hey, dude, you're not gonna get crap from this, they won't even want to fill out a police report. They'll say it was due to the "cause of nature". I'd give it a rest and go buy a new bumper. Or drive with that one for the winter, who cares. Cover it up with something if it's that big of a deal.
