and yes, i did search and can't quite find the answer i'm looking for..
so currently i have a stock 1jz vvti with a ct15b, on an AEM EMS. It's time to upgrade the injectors to some USDM 2jz injectors (550cc) and a twin scroll..
I am just not sure what i want, however i do know i want a Borgwarner..
My power goals are 400-500whp, and quick spool down low since it's a drift car and i love the feeling of quick response. With my current setup i hit full boost at about 2500rpms, i love it.
I am currently looking at this turbo, but unsure if it's the best option for my power goals/spool time.

GTX series blows in my opinion. Unless you plan on running big number. I have a gt37r strapped to a 1jz non vvti on a stock block/head, with lighter pulleys and a bigger intake mani. Its nice and all, but my buddies 6262 is the same size turbo, and spools about 500rpm quicker. Hes also running untuned on 15psi and is making about 390wheel. It also has the potential to make bigger numbers if you choose to increase. The precision 6262 is a great turbo, spools quick, and has an amazing power band on 1jz. Throw a qsv on it and you would probably see full boost my 2500-3000rpms. As far as BW turbos go, I cant stand them. They are big, bulky, and just dont crank out what you want them to.

very helpful insight! thank you very much..
so my buddy decided to give me a STEAL on the tomei turbo, so i guess that's what im going to go with in the mean time.. next question is, what size injectors should i run for 500whp?
would sard 550's do the job or would i be better off with 850's...?

I would go with the 850cc. Better safe than sorry. Im not an expert with injectors, but my buddy maxed out his stock 2jz on 550cc at about 480wheel. With the 850's you will have room to grow. Whats your fuel set up at the moment? 93 or e85?

the question is not so much what injectors when it comes to injectors, but what engine management. If it's a true stand alone use a brand new set of something slightly larger than you need.
If its going on a piggyback tune, (I hope not) you want just barely enough injector (to get the oem timing map as close as possible) and raise the fuel pressure to help it out.

i only plan on running pump gas in it, no E85 or anything like that..
The car currently has a walbro 255 lph and stock fpr on the vvti..
Hoping that will be able to support 400-500whp ok

It could, but i would put my money on it failing. I hate walbro's. Id run a bosch 044 or an additional walbro. But mainly run a bosch 044 lol.
