Adjusting boost

Right now, for some reason my boost pressure is at 15psi! I have a boost controller installed and it reads boost fine, but I can't set it to a certain amount. 15 psi is way too high for me, and I tried setting my Greddy Profec A to 8psi, but it will not work. The manual says if the boost setting is lower then that of the stock boost the turbo is at, it will not change. So basically I need to lower the boost manually, and I do not know how to do so. Sorry im a newb! It is an SR20DET Motor in an S14

well for one thing you can't lower your boost below your stock boost. Because the wastegate spring is set to a certain pressure to open. Second make sure you have the valve that controls the inlet pressure on the right way. It should say flow in a certain way. Make sure that is right that is all I can tell you.
