Hey guys. I have a annoying problem. I switch out my abs braking system to a non abs braking system. But as I came to tightening the 4 bolts down for the booster I noticed the damn brake lights are on....and I can't think of what might be the problem. Do I need to adjust the brake pedal to the booster or what?

There is a button that should be pressed when your brake pedal is up. As in your not stepping on it. The button can be adjusted but your probly just missing the little rubber part that presses the button. Let me post something to that will help you out

This is the little rubber part that goes in side the little hole in your brake pedal that presses the button in when you let off the brake pedal

not saying you should ghetto rig it, but i taped three pennies to the bracket that holds the rubber insert/piece and it's worked for two years. i'd recommend at least putting that in there for now to stop the battery from being drained until that rubber/plastic piece comes in the mail.

Go to your local auto part store and get an assorted body clip pack, IIRC is a 5/16 clip but its been a while

Yes you're either missing that rubber grommet or the brake switch needs to be adjusted. I had the same problem and ruined an optima redtop back in the day because of that damn $1 grommet.

a 10mm headed bolt and nut works great for the "in a hurry" "on the go" fix

happens in hondas ALL the time... whenever you see a honda goin down the road and the lights stay on, it's the same prob. Hondas are bad about those little rubber baby bumpers to get distressed and crack/crumble on the floorboard

I have a piece of hard thin cardboard over the hole, and a piece of aluminium tape wrapped around both sides.

I meant it to be temporary, but no longer see any reason to replace it.

Thank you guys I used the penny method. But instead of 3 I just used 2 pennies on the front side of the insert.

Great, now order the correct part or go to Autozone and find a more permanent solution.
