Lay the engine on a tire and strap it down as best you can. It's not rocket science.

Make sure you have a strap tying it to the back the truck bed so it doesn't slam into the cab if you wreck or have to brake hard.
thanks alot guys i had no idea that it was safe to lay a engine on its side.

Yeah, just make sure you don't crush anything like the dizzy if it's put on it's side..
is there a preferred side i should lay against the tire?

I just picked up a L6 engine with all the accessories........ It's in the back seat of a 09 civic 4 door, transmission and driveshaft in the truck and a whole exhaust system in the car, WITH part of it hanging out of the back window.......... And your asking how to do it in a truck!?!?!?! What the fuck is wrong with kids. Go out and find out how to do it instead of asking on a forum.

so youre suggesting that i go figure out and possibly risk wasting hundreds of dollars and hours of time trying different things instead of merely asking on a forum for advice? sounds real wise from an "adult" such as yourself. mabye thats why an "adult" such as yourself is still hanging around forums talkin shit to "kids" like me.

if you want to be super badass/anal about it, acquire a spare front subframe/cross member, bolt the engine to it so that it will be forced to sit up straight. use straps to get kinky with it.

Wtf who's in there right mind wont / can't figure it out, how to load a motor into a Truck? dude answer is on the first post (tire and straps) that's all there's no preference side. I do suggest strap it next to the cab tho.. I've picked up complete motors in my 240 all I did was take of the back seats and passenger seat and laid it there, if you can't figure something out, just slap your self in the face for me please.
No 240.. No id

Chain the motor to your back bumper and drag it all the way to your house, Its a ka so it should be fine. GL.

lol i didnt think about that. thats actually an awesome idea if you transport motors often.
I dont sit it on its side i sit it straight up in a tire and then wrap straps around the intake and exhaust manifold and strap to each corner of the truck bed. dont stress out man its easy
