I have a redtop SR in a s13 that I pretty much use as my only DD. Just recently I had it heat up while someone was borrowing my car to drive around. At the time it looked to be a ruptured hose underneath the intake manifold, easy I thought. I took the manifold apart, found a cracked hose with a hole and said excellent, that was it. I replaced ALL the hoses while I was in there, and bolted her back up, filled it with coolant and started to run it and purge it. So it's running and it starts leaking again, just as bad as it did at the start.
I take it apart, inspect every hose one by one and sorta follow the drip, and find that it's this Y pipe coming from behind the water pump, it looks pretty corroded and my best guess is that it's pitted and leaking.
What I came to ask is if anyone has any suggestions. I'll maybe try and get a tool to pressurize the cooling system after maybe tightening the daylights out of the clamps to see if it leaks under pressure, but I'm leaning towards that part being bad. It looks like that pipe is pressed into the block. I can't easily remove it and have it welded again.
I'd appreciate any help or ideas. Thanks in advance.
