I found a S14 rear DME Strut bar from some dude who doesn't own any 240s.

the design is fugly and doesn't really look functional but i'm trading him for my old boost gauge, since i switch to digital.

Anyways does anyone have any pics of it in a S14? is this thing under or over parcel style?

and real quick....nah bra. i ain't trying to spend a dime on strut bars. if this deal doesn't work out, i'd be fine without them. so save the "why don't you spend a little extra and get some better ones"

this strut bar will be strictly cosmetic to me.

here's the same one on ebay for $40

I don't see how it couldn't be functional, it's a bar that sits between two posts essentially. The only real chance of failure is if they used cheap-o grade materials and they're bending or sharing bolts or something.

Also if you're looking for cosmetics you dun fucked up, that bar looks like it's the kind that goes in the rear pass-through behind the seats, not the kind that goes up through the rear package shelf that can be seen, so you traded for a strut bar for looks that can't be seen. Different companies decide to use different designs for whatever reason.

i was actually going for the under parcel style behind the rear seat. cosmetic meaning when i pop the trunk only.

as far as functionality goes... it seems like the cheap aluminum that bolts the center bar in place is too thin and will probably flex under stress.

but under parcel you think. I hope so. gonna grab it later today.

That is a Greddy knockoff.... bolts on the same way. It goes under the deck lid but you can't really see it unless you put the rear seats down and look through the inside of the car since it sits right up against that large hole.

I've seen a few ebay strut bars and they all flex. I'd just spend the extra money and get the actual Greddy bar if you want a strut bar... or better yet, have someone weld a bar between the rear strut towers.

cool thanks. as long as it doesn't stick out of the deck lid like the nismo bar.

I'm practically getting this thing for free. if i wasn't, i wouldnt go out looking for strut bars. I dont really believe in them. I'm sure they help and all, but not by much. a really expensive sticker if you ask me.
