So I was doing some reading and figured that my fuel filter needs to be replaced.
Im not even sure if it's my origional KA fuel filter, or if it's a "newer" one that I put in from my SR.
Anyways, it's time to be changed, hopefully solve some of my problems
For example: really bad idle, bounces between 0-500, sometimes car dies out, and a little bit of delay.

Anyways, the question is:
Which fuel filter would be best for me, I have heard that maybe running a 300zx one would be a good idea? So, which one would be the best one to use? 300zx turbo? what year? I think it's less than $20 for one right?
Thanks in advance!!

yes a 300zx TT is fine bend your factory brackets out a bit and its a simple replacement. there is no best a new ka one is fine but ones for the TT Z are typically about the same price and the only difference is its bigger.

I've found them to be an avg of $2-$5 cheaper than the 240 filters.

replaced mine the other day too. didn't notice much of a difference. It was a bitch getting the lines off. I ended up just cutting them up and replacing them both.

oh yeah, i used a z32 TT

WTF, it's a fuel filter.
if you notice any difference, your old one must have been pretty damn clogged. All it does is restore the flow of fuel to proper specs, it's in no way a performance enhancement.

i know. But before I bought mine, I searched on zilvia. Many people say it gives them better gas mileage and shit like that. But i didn't notice anything.

The mileage isnt really affected by the fuel filter...only thing I noticed with the 300zx "upgrade" was better throttle response. But for $10, it was worth it for just that.

it works like a charm, as to getting better gas milage, if you are fixing up your car for HP it aint gonna happen hehehehe.. but yes its a good idea to change it as i'm sure your stock 240sx one is waisted.

Ok kids, just like Yoshi is saying, its a Fuel Filter.

The only reason to get it is because its bigger and CHEAPER. You don’t get better throttle response or better gas mileage. All you get is $3 saved in your wallet for your happy meals.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there was less filtration inside the Z32 filter to begin with. I might go cut my spare one open if I’m bored.

I'm guessing Luke has some imput.

My imput. It doesn't do much, unless you where running a completely redone fuel system. You know, larger injectors, high pressure fuel pump, aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, 2 extra injectors for higher boost, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

That's my 2 cents but maybe I'm wrong. It' helped me with better throttle response, but I am running a nismo fuel pressure regulator, 440cc injectors, walboro fuel pump, and a couple of other fuel upgrades along with a better flowing fuel rail.

WOOHOOO! I was bored and in the mood to rip up some metal. So here it damage...

Let me add, its pointless to get the 240sx filter. But dont claim this one gives you better anything besides longer lasting filtration (if that).

Do you realize even how little 555cc is for a filter to handle?

HAHAHA! That's awesome west!
now someone needs to cut a 240 one in half to compare ;)

The only possible way a bigger (cup style) Fuel filter would possibly help. Is if you are using soooooooooo much fuel when boost hits, You drain your filter before the pump can fill it back up. This would result in a momentary drop in fuel pressure, and yadda yadda.

Thats why all those Crazy road race cars use surge tanks. A surge tank is usually located in front of the fuel cell. it looks like a 4" diameter 10" or so tall bucket that just fills up with fuel. That way when power hits it drains that and still allows enough time for the pump to fill it up, before the pressure drops.

Fuel filters are for pussys anyways.
