91 s13 ebrake not working anymore

I have a 91 240sx and my ebrake isn't working like it use to im guessing i used it to hard at one point or something but i have a drift button or spin turn knob or whatever and i did tighten the bolt to the left under the boot but its still not 100% it works a little bit but bot enough to initiate with bot exactly what it could be any suggestions?

Have you tried putting the old button back on and seeing if the car stays put?

If that isn't the problem and you suspect you ripping that e-brake too hard, you could have a loose e-brake cables. Tightening the nut on the lever isn't going to fix that. You need new cables.

Assuming you're still using stock S13 brakes, you may also want to check how much pad you've got left in the rear.
