im doing a sr20det swap in my s13 hatch and i am trying to get power to the car(accesory like dash light up etc) and the battery is connected, like this: positive (+) from the starter to battery. negative (-) from clean ground down metal on frame to the battery. I used a wiring specialities pro harness and everything is all plugged in except for a 7 pin plug because of this..the plug from the car is on the drivers side..near the clutch pedal and on the new harness it is coming off right near where the ecu connects so its across the car, but i am not sure if thats why?
any help is appreciated thank you

Does the harness have a clutch switch hookup that could disable the starter try disabling the stock one at the pedal another thing is check your power to the starter make sure it is all operating

It is because on newer cars they have the regulator built into the alternator only time you wouldn't be able to is if it had an external regulator

You have grounds going to your motor and transmission correct from the frame I am not familiar with your harness so I'm just asking

There's no plug going to drivers side on swap. Everything is on passenger side unless you have rhd. That 7 pin have start signal. You must plug that to start.
