SR20DET Miata (http://forum.miata.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=34;t=001896;p=)
At least it should be fast, maybe too small to drift?

OK Miatas get some credit then, but I still don't like that he has an SR20, I'm probably just jealous though, since I can't afford one. :duh:
But I still say they look gay. :fruit:

if you drive a turbocharged miata , i'm pretty sure you'll quickly forget how gay you might look. Those cars are way fun to drive.

That's awesome. I wonder if it threw off the weight balance or not....
I like that shops other cars as well....

It's a bit non-sensical, since the original Miata engine is well set up for boost already, in every way except compression ratio. I'd rather swap pistons and add a turbo to the original engine than bother mating an engine from another manufacturer.
But, everyone wants to be "different".
tnord also got a Miata because he wanted to road race, wheel to wheel, and there's no easy way to road race a 240SX, but the Miata has a whole racing series for it.
The Miata is no joke... any year. It is a true sports car, not some girly convertible with sporting aspirations. Perfect balance. Light weight. Low center of gravity. Double-wishbone suspension at all four corners. Brakes as big as our much heavier 240s. Limited slip differentials driving the rear wheels. Super quick steering. Rock-solid 7000rpm engines.
Why don't I own one again? Oh yeah, I'm an idiot.

:boink: yep ... and that's why its one of the few if not the only import RWD cars to survive through the rwd phase out of the 90s. i still can't picture myself driving one though. btw have u guys seen the mazdaspeed miata... the intercooler makes it look like the rx7's strange bucktooth younger brother...

gyea they are like minny rx7 without the power.... i think the new models look better thatn the older ones... the old ones were gruesome lookin unless u added aftermarket body parts... the newer ones come with sides blah blah ect...and look decent

I remember seeing one in some magazine like 5 years ago.... That would be pretty cool too. Of course there's the big block miata's, 5.0 miata's etc but I'd assume there handling wouldn't be as neutral...

I've seen this car. The Valve cover is suposed to be a copper flake. It looks Baby Shit Brown with gold flakes. The hood does have a bumb in it to clear the SR that sits much higher. It's a quick SOB.

Thats why I was thinking rotary b/c its so light weight;Might even weigh less then the stock 1.6 :whip:
I've heard of a carb'd rotary one that runs mid 12s :faint:

1800 lbs?
anyway yeah the mazdaspeed is pretty nice but it still doesn't have enough balls in my opinion. I have taken a ride in a t3/t4 93 miata with about 220 whp and that car is fast. like that range (200 to 220 whp) is where they should have set the bar. i read that they played around with superchargers and were making like 250 hp but that was overpowering the chassis.

Ever since I've driven one (About 2 years ago) i wanted one...I felt like i was driving a feckin go kart...Yeah the pickup wasn't that great but the handle was seriously like nothing i have ever felt before...It is the king of handling especially for the price..I've seen older miata's go for 1300 bucks on www.autotrader.com .. I wanted to get it so bad but i just got through paying rent so i didn't have the cash..Plus i got a family so it'll make it kinda hard to fit a baby seat in there...Hey i can always keep my 240 for the family ride :P

and yes Miatas can drift
what else is new, what RWD cant drift that is being driven by a SKILLED DRIVER.. jeez..
hehe
anyway... i like the car, anyone hating is just an idiot.
