wanted to ask before I rely on somewhat common sense :l101:

I replaced my s13 flca with s14 FLCA with s13 ball joints

I am having an issue with my driver side FLCAmain bolt (the part that bolts onto the Knuckle).

During the removal process, you have to hammer out the ball-joint to separate that bolt that holds it to the knuckle, when I reinstalled it, it does not want to go back in so I placed the nut on, and tightened it enough where the hole was visible and allowed the cotter pin to completely go thru the bolt and be tightened..

The odd thing is on the passenger side, it slid right in, so my question is,
Would driving re-seat that bolt fully so there is no gap between the ball-joint and the knuckle?

Or should I reinstall and see if I can somehow get it to go all the way in with a rubber mallet or something

Again, the passenger side there is no gap, its all the way thru..

talk about thread jacking at its greatest haha, to answer your question, you should be fine just make sure you have the appropriate ecu...engine and tranny are same sizes, theres differences like external coil vs internal coil but if whoever you get it from is supplying everything to you including either a Rom tuned ecu or standalone etc you should be set... and next time, search or start your own thread for questions, dont threadjack please..

Don't know if I understand what you're saying. If you're saying the ball joints not fully seated you can slide a tiny jack in and jack it from the flca to get it to seat.

+1 racepar and yeah ive tried that a few times already, just seems odd that one side doesnt want to snug in, i may just the car around for a low speed drive, im hoping a few speedbumps may help seat it, anyone else have any other suggestions maybe? I am starting to feel like this is just one of those things that you gotta do and find out ,thanks for the replies guys, if anyone has other suggestions, please shoot them over, thanks!

There shouldn't be any trick to it. It should slide right into the seat. If it's not seated all the way then you've got an issue. Maybe you damaged the seat on the spindle hammering the old balljoint out. Driving the car around definitely will not help.

yeah looks like its time to reinstall and see if I can get it to pop, if not, time to replace knuckle, thanks for input.

If it won't seat with a jack under the controlarm or by beating with a hammer look closely at the diameter of the new ball joint versus the old. It is possible that t he part was boxed wrong.

thanks for all the feedback gents, turns out the damn rubber was just squished down a bit making it appear to not have seated, looked like this picture here...
