I have a B&M shifter and it looks and feels like it's missing some pieces.

Will someone verify for me please?.?. The B&M is a product for the S-chassis.

I've posted in the "identify this thread" and the only thing people know shit about is body kits and rims. I've also posted in the other thread that pertains to shifters and no hits there either. Maybe I'll have better luck here.

I have the shifter, the top plate w/ the screws. I'm not positive that I have the other hardware that may not be pictured.

If need be, I can get a picture of everything that I have so that there is a better understanding of what I have. Or someone can post a dismantled picture of their own.

This video should help you out, he takes the shifter apart

^^^ Hit the nail on the head. I just had mine apart the other day and those are the parts you are missing.

If you want to use the shifter, it will still function just fine without the sleeve (will just have a tiny bit of play if you twist the shaft without it). You can also use upside down screws in place of the missing flat washers. It sounds ghetto but the cheap Isis/ebay replicas come with upside down screws instead of washers from the factory and they supposedly work fine. There is a comparison on youtube that will show you what I mean.

Edit: the post above is the video, was posted while I was typing lol.

Thanks for the replies fellas.

I got in touch w/ a guy from B&M and he supplied w/ the missing pieces for free, (wasn't expecting that).

He also sent me some O-rings. I have no idea where they go. Any ideas?

from what i gathered from that video the o rings went on the shaft under the counterweight to secure it better

I didn't venture that far in the video the first time. Now I did. Thank you.

Sorry to bump a year old thread, but I didn't want to needlessly create a new one, especially since it's in this thread that someone (OP) mentioned they got in touch with B&M and were able to get replacement parts.

I've had my B&M shifter for about 5 or 6 years now, and I've put probably about 20,000 miles on it, but somewhere over the last two years or so I noticed it had a tiny bit more slop than I thought it was supposed to have. I originally thought it was just the bushing on the tip of the shifter, so I bought several brand new OEM Nissan bottom shifter tip bushings and replaced mine, but surprisingly it didn't seem to change anything at all. It still has the same bit of slop in it.

Upon closer inspection, it appears the play is coming from the black middle bushing that the shifter pivots on. I can see just a bit of slack between the outsides of that bushing and the blue shifter base when I move the knob around with the shifter in place. It's almost like what makes the slop even visible is the gear oil getting sandwiched on the sides of the bushing when I move it, causing it to squish upwards just enough to make it visible.

I just called B&M customer support for some help and spoke with Bob, who was very nice, but he told me there was nothing they could do because they can't get individual replacement parts, which is crazy because:

What are my options here? I tried one of the Isis middle bushings from my friend's extra Isis shifter, but it was already kinda chewed up looking, so no surprise it didn't help.

Is there supposed to be some sort of grease on the middle bushing that would damp out the little bit of slop I'm feeling? Because mine is all clean other than the gear oil that gets all up in there from the trans.

Surely my aluminum shifter base (the blue thing) isn't worn since it's plastic vs aluminum. Wish I knew how to 3D print a new bushing (if that's even possible).

I appreciate any help you guys have to offer!!

I wish I wouldn't never deleted the e-mail that I had going on w/ the guy from B&M.

Your problem could either be the pivot piece, or possibly the graphite mentos looking things. Call B&M again and try catching someone else to talk to.

Thanks for the quick reply man! Hmmm, crap that would be nice to have that email to show them they've sent out replacement parts before.

I'm actually sitting in my car now (not driving lol), and the shifter slop is more forward and backward than it is left and right. Don't know if those clues help at all, but I just took a video with my phone, so I'll upload that just in case it helps to paint the picture any better.

The lady at B&M that connected me to Bob in technical support said that there were 2 tech support people (because they were both busy when I called, so I had to leave a message on Bob's answering machine so he'd ring me back). Don't know if she's meaning there were 2 people working today, or 2 tech support employees in general, but I figure it's worth ringing them up again just to try getting someone else, especially since now that I've seen this thread, I know they've sent out replacement parts before.
