Hey guys I have heard ALL aftermarket lsd's are noisy, no problem with that but I just installed a Kaaz 2 way in my s13 with the stock open carrier, everything went in nice, I also installed a set of TTC sub frame collars, toe control rods and ruca's when I was doing my diff break in I noticed at turn in it makes a poping sound about two or three times (which is amplified due to the ridgid collars) but it does stop when I keep turning, it works great under throttle and off throttle, no other noises when driving straight, I set the backlash at .004 -.006 and the runout was only .002
I guess I need the input of others who have this diff in there car if their's is making the same noises,'
Thanks
Have a 2 way clutch type KAAZ in my S14, same noises. Sometimes when backing up it makes a crackling noise. Its suppose to be normal, its just the LSD.

I am sorry but the noise is called Clunking, and it is because of the disks inside trying to get grip of one another. It is normal, and you will get used to it.

I have set up a ton of rear ends before but this one was one of the easiest yet, Log on to sportcompactcar.net and look up under porject silvia diff install and follow the steps, If you bought the Kaaz it comes with new carrier bearings and axle seals! I put the carrier bearing shims back in the same place and the specs were perfect, no need to adjust shims!!!!! (at least on mine) But you always want to check it with a dial indicator.
Yea this diff was one of the best buys yet for the ol' 240sx next to the
collars

Hi,
Thanks for your purchase of Kaaz lsd. Go for a hard canyon driving couple of
nights. The unit will quiet down a little once the plates get seated to each other properly. The sound will only be loud when the diff is still cold in the morning but should be more quiet once it warms up. Enjoy driving!
Best Regards,
