i was watching a high performance racing video, i dont know where it was from.. but some oriental guy was talking.. i think he was chinese.. he could have been korean.

he was talking about a wild form of racing called DRIFTING! Have you guys ever heard of it? Its quite impressive.

He took some turns and he was so skilled, that he put his hand out the window and made a peace sign.. then he said "DORITO TIME."

I was impressed. I am sure he takes good care of his heart too.

I support anyone who loves the car scene and follows their passion.

However, there are quotes in there that just BUG me. Why has "drifting" been going on in Japan for the past 10 years? Last I checked, I know many of people who've been driving like this PRIOR to the JDM_DRIFT_EXPLOSION.

Two, who cares if its a guy or a girl, as long as that person is doing what they love. I completely support Nadine and think its great shes following her dreams, but I cant seem to give in to this "pink fluffy girl drifter" appearance that they always seem to associate with the articles I read. Its cool though.. I wont hate on it, who am I to say whats right and wrong. If gay people want to drift and paint their cars multicolor, I cant hate on that.. because they're doing it their way. BUT, I just think its silly.. enjoy the sport and dont be so loud.

For me, hardcore is that girl in one of the Best Motoring videos who milled her own ITB setup for her R32 GT-S. I dont think it can get any cooler than that, and she didnt associate herself with any shnazzy colors or fanciness.. it was just down low in your face badassedness. The car spoke for itself, and this is what car modding to me is all about. No hype.. just realness.

You got to remember this is fluff. Not hard core news. The article is showing something different than the local church gets a new coat of paint or quilting stories. They want to explore what the local communities are into. Sharing interest and maybe give others an opportunity, which may create a new invironment. But screw the media, they rush through many thing and facts get twisted.

I like it, cause it shows people can expand their hobbies and enjoy the things they do.

well anyway, atleast we can agree that that chick was hardcore. the best part about it, she was COMPLETELY understated and looked like an ordinary girl. No fancy hair, no fancy anything. Which again, adds to my theory.. I think its next to near impossible to be a girl in the automotive industry who TRULY works on her car AND looks sexy. Its neither extreme, I dont expect the girls to hang with me, to be the type of girls that are complete babies and cannot even manage to put water in their radiator with crying. The girls I talk to are atleast capable of swapping a battery.. its just common sense here. One girl I am talking to just told me she swapped her ignition switch.. i'm like "okay.. fresh."

and... the people who read these articles, all of which have opinions. Its not about hating or supporting, its just about criticism and opinions. Not everyone sees eye to eye, not everyone feels the same way about everything written.. seeing all these perspectives is what makes life beautiful.

I think the point I was atleast trying to make is, it doesnt matter if its a girl or a guy.. anyone who has an interest in the scene should join it and be welcomed. If they are not, then they shouldnt really be together.
