View Full Version : SR20DET cylinder head outside bolt size?
Hey guys,
Does anyone know the size of the "cylinder head outside bolt"? That's what the FSM refers to it as. It's located underneath the CAS. Thanks, I appreciate it!!

EDIT: This is on an s13 redtop if that makes any difference, thanks

Do you mean how long it is? Or the bolt thread size and pitch?
All of the above :) I need a replacement as it appears that mine is somewhat bent

I'd get something to shove down in the hole to get an approx. length. I believe the bolt is in the M6 x 1.25 range. Go to the local hardware store and do some shopping...

M6x1.0, length no clue. Just grab one from somewhere else on the car

This. All M6 stuff on the car is M6 x 1.0 mm.
I seem to recall it being roughly in the 25-35 mm range, not a huge bolt that'd be hard to find at all.
Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
It's actually my fault that it got bent. As you can see from that FSM page it just says to install the inside and outside cylinder head sub bolts. I was a dumbass and didnt pay attention that the one in question actually goes through the bottom mounting point of the water neck. I was torquing it in by itself and Im like man this thing still has some threads left...torque torque...bend...what?? then I pulled it out and after making this post realized it goes through the water neck. Ill bring it with me to lowe's or home depot this week and find a replacement, at least now I have a starting point with the m6x1.00, thanks again!
