i hit a huge speed bump and broke off a bracket holding my new exhaust up and it ripped a hole in the pipe. had it welded for 10$ and i think every square inch of my car has some sort of rattle in it. i never noticed how bad my car rattled until my cd player went out. (all radio stations here suck, so i've been riding in silence for a week.) and i have a few paint chips that are pissing me off on my hood. that's it!

11-15-2001, 11:28 AM
wow i thought i was bad. after reading most of s13girls list im pretty good.

my main problem is a crappy ka24e in it
i replaced by myself:

timing chain
clutch
fixed intermittent hud
fixed reverse lights (wasn't the bubls either)

now i checked my car my oil pan is leaking again dso i gotta reseal that.

i have so much blow by when i take my oil cap off the engine is close to dying out. so i need new piston rings. but i wont till the pos engine dies and i save up for a sr

other than that its all good cause its a nissan and rwd

to 91crx the reverse light problem could be your reverse switch found in your transmission.

s13girl if you need help one day for your hud let me know i like helpin out especially when it comes to a nissan

ohh and problems with the rear sub frame bushings i got from pdm! grrrrrrrr dons really startin to piss me off now!

Well, my Eleanor (named after Eleanor Roosevelt) just passed 83,000 miles. Not using a drop of oil, no leaks save the front main seal, which I know why it's leaking. Replaced it 20 or 30,000 ago, but it was compromised during install. Tried putting it in without grease and then remembered. Took it back out, and think it was hurt.

Clutch is going. 4000 rpm and I can't roast the tires. Can roast the clutch nicely though. Going to change that out this weekend.

Brake squeaks. May eventually have rotors turned, and check the rest of the system. Already bled them, put in Dot 4.

Fender still smashed from garage door incident.

I want my cam now!!!!!!!

That's about it.

Say you're doing 50 mph in fourth gear. You need to stop. You put the car in third, let out the clutch and let go of the gas and brake slowly. You get slower and slower, then you put the clutch in and downshift to second. You keep braking in second without touching the clutch or the gas pedal. Right before reaching 0mph (at, say 5-10mph) you put the car in Neutral and brake in Neutral. When you reach a complete stop, your RPMs go down to 500 and bounce up and down for a few seconds before getting back to 750. Now, that's definitely not normal.

(roaring like a little brat) My bloody leather seats creak all the f*****ng time aaaaaaah gggr (pulls at his t-shirt and stamps feet )
Also the passenger window creaks which annoys the #### out of me.
When i`m driving and want to turn quick i want the gears to slip in and out easily to keep up with me but it NEVER goes into reverse without a shove and delay. ( OMG i`m sounding like a fussy sod) . And my front brake pads need changing and i cant stand doing it.
Pushing the piston in after you remove the pads gets right up my nose.
Hey CAMPPAIN will ya work on MY car for me mate? I haven`t got a plane ticket but i`ve got a "lets see" (empties contents of pocket into hand) err....34p....a chewy....a super kingsize condom and a piece of fluff!

Hahahahaha! You're f'n hillarious!!!!

Okay... For the leather squeaking problem; stop wearing tight vinyl pants .
Don't clean your car and the windows will stop squeaking.
And I have the same problem with my gears; sometimes the [bleep]er just wont go into first unless I let go of the clutch and put it back in . Same for reverse. And yeah...

I've never really considered it a problem...just a quirk of the car, but mine does the same low rpm when stopping thing, too, s13grl. Don't let it bother you...I don't think it's anything serious...unless it actually stalls and dies.
And I think the difficulty of shifting to 1st and reverse has something to do with the lack of syncros in those gears.
Now...let's see....my problems....
-the front left valve cover bolt stripped, so I replace it with the only thing I has available--a weak brass bolt...so in fear of twisting it in half, it's not torqued down all the way and I have a very very slight oil leak.
-clunky shifter....I rode with my friend in his Miata last night and sat in awe as he clicked through his gears all the while moving his wrist a whole 2 or so inches....and that's not even a short shifter.
-don't have the money or means to get a CA18DET just yet...but....in time.....seriously, probably next summer.;)

I have a similar problem... my cloth seats squeak when I wear leather pants. Well, it's my pants, but I like to say its my seats' fault.

my car is not painted yet, it is two tone black and silver, and also my biggest problem is that the engine is not in my car it is in my garage and it def does not help my 1/4 mile times with it there.

Well I just bought my 97 about 9 months ago and I think I might need a new steering rack.. mileage is 45,000 (I bought it with 31,000). My steering wheel doesnt center itself properly, and its a bitch when driving long distances on the highway. (And I replaced the rack bushings, too!)

11-15-2001, 08:57 PM
g0d damned...and i thought i had problems...my only problem was that stalling problem...my AC is still #### perfect...my power doors and windows and sunroof are all still working like new..rear defroster is Fk'Ed up..but i did that myself from attempting to remove my tint...gonna get a new tranny..auto to 5 speed

Hmmmm.......lemme think about this one.........the list is long

* oil pan leaks
* oil leak in front cover
* transmission "clunks" when shifting from 1st to 2nd, and sometimes into 1st from a dead stop and sometimes shifting into 5th
* boots demolished on rear shocks
* exhaust rattles
* muffler beginning to look very, very worn
* needs new tires
* blown front driver's side speaker
* needs new timing chain
* needs new clutch
* clear coat coming off around the rear window
* aftermarket paintjob done shitty
* frame doesn't seem as straight as it should be (strut mounts are not straight--strut tower brace cannot be installed on my car)--aka bad repair job from accident before my ownership
* rattle in the driver's side door vent
* bad brake dust coming from rear passenger side brake
* window tracks need to be fixed (windows rattle like crazy when opening and closing)
* only has 155 bhp

I think I may have covered it all, but I'm sure I'll remember more when I drive it again tomorrow morning.

well i think my car was in a small wreck before. there are crimps on the wire going to the low beam harness and I think that the people who worked on it reversed the high beam and low beam wires (dammit). The left light always seems to be brighter than the right one. I hope i can screw around get this tested out and fixed, and maybe convince my grandparents my housings are broken and get some Euro-spec ones on the group buy, lol.
