Doing timing chain change on a 1992 nissan 240sx hatch.
There aren't many threads on timing chain replacement, or helpful tips...other than dropping oil pan.
Anyone have a write up of step by step or can just give me a short run down and hints on things to do?
So far I'm guessing...
1. Set timing at the 1st cylinder and tdc
2.drain radiator fluid and wash out the radiator since I'm at it and leave it dry.
3. drain motor oil and remove oil pan
4. remove belts and pullies
5.remove dizzy, spark plugs and plug wires
6. remove valve cover and both upper and lower timing chain covers and water pump and oil pump, etc
7. remove timing chains and sprockets
8. put everything back...
Can someone who has done this let me know if I'm missing anything?
Thanks:wavey:
