I have a question for those that are knowledgeable with fuel pump setups. I live in florida and im having an issue at day events with my fuel pump over heating and cutting off. If I let the car sit for 30mins it will start right back up no problem. I know its the fuel pump because i dont hear it prime and i have no fuel pressure. I was wondering if running a dual intank pump setup would help solve this issue seeing as they wont have to work as hard and overheat? If a dual pump setup would help would one recomend an additional aeromotive stealth pump or dual walbros?
Background:
-Ls1 swapped with 410whp
-Currently running an aeromotive stealth 340 with relay rewire
-I had the same issue and put in another brand new stealth and it started doing the same thing during day events.
-The headers are ceramic coated and ypipe is wrapped where the lines run. The lines have the heat shielding around them where they run by the header.

I have a fair bit more hp than you and use Bosch 044 pumps In tank and in line.
Dual in tank feeding a swirl pot / catch tank.
From catch tank dual pumps feeding the rail.
This is more than enough to supply 4 ID 2000 with E85.
No temperature issues.

Thanks for the reply. So you have 4 pumps total with a surge tank? Thats just a bit over kill for my situation, mainly trying to see if 2 intank pumps would fix my issue. REally trying to avoid doing a whole fuel cell/surge tank setup.

Yes a dual intank would solve your issues, you possibly could get away with one 044 aswell. With your temp problem, I would get rid of the Aeromotive.

Yeah i've been looking into the possibility of running a single 044. Would that be better as far as heat as it seems they draw less amps?

I'm in this current situation right now as well. I'm going to run dual intake walbro 255s since i have them. Plan to just get a "Y" fitting and connect them that way. I'm saving up for -8an feed, -6an return, (not sure of filter), and dual Jays Racing Bosch 044 Intanks. Would prefer 1 pump that can support 700hp.

FYI Aeromotive 340's at times have been known to overheat. A lot of people that fixed the issue increased the size/gauge of the wiring to the pump(s) and have had success. I have Ben Freed's (CVC9216) old setup which is Dual 340s in-tank and out a single -10 to the rails (havent ran it yet) but this was the setup that took him into the 9's without any issues. The setup he sold me had some upgraded electrical (couldnt tell you details as its still in storage) but I am sure you could contact him and he could give you specifics. The Bosch 044 is a bad ass pump for sure but if you have the 340 might as well try the wiring upgrade as it shouldnt be too expensive.

Thanks for the input guys. Im kind of starting to lean towards a single good intake pump if i can and try to get away from the aeromotive stealth. I'm considering both the bosch 044 and the newer walbro 400. The walbro would be cheaper/easier to do but i've only found a couple reviews on it.

the 400lph is being used by a lot of high power local Supra guys with no complaints and no issues running on E85.

The Walbro 400 is something that was just mentioned to me that I am now looking into.

Are you using the stock FPR from the GM? I know they can cause all sorts of issues and cause pumps to overheat or deadhead and make huge PSI and shut them off. (at least with 044 and A1000s)

Sorry things have gotten busy to reply. Codyace, i have a return style setup with a fuel lab adjustable fpr. I went ahead and tried out the new walbro 400. First impresssions it seems to hold better fuel pressure after the car is primed, and turned off. Drove it to an event this weekend (hour drive), drove all night, and then drove home and not a single issue at all.
