Today at school in the student parking lot. I saw an S13 FB. It didnt even have the plates yet. I saw the guy get into the S13, I said it was a nice looking car and what was his plans. He said these exact words... "First thing im gonna do is to get this thing a body kit and paint job". After that i walked away... :fawk2: bandwagon jumpers. He's the same guy i saw a few months ago driving a primered CRX with a fartcan, rockin the APC decal in his rear window. To bad someone cant save this FB. Its really nice, ill try to get a few pics of it and post tomorrow.

^^^ true true. there's nothing inherently special about 240sx's. a legion of them have been driven to death by your average joes, grocery getting moms, etc... you gonna say those cars were wasted on them? often i've seen a nice s14 or s13, caught up to see who was driving it and discovered a mid 40's career woman or a 20ish college girl who probably got the car from her parents.

just remember its how you tune the car and drive it that counts... its knowledge and skill you take with you no matter what you are driving; the 240 is just a platform. thats what seperates you from a kid jumping in on the latest fad.

when i was looking for my 240 i was talking to this guy who had an S13 hatch for sale. he was all telling me all sorts of crap that i already knew OR already knew was complete, overhyped BS. it sucks but that's how things are. these kinds of kids don't spend hours in the texas heat doing\ mods that most people won't even notice. hopefully it'll pass soon.

How much of what he eats makes you shit? Why are people so worried about this type of shit? I admit I bought my car with the plans of putting a SR in it, that's why I didn't mind that it had a slushmatic tranny. That was 2 years ago and I still have the stock KA with the slushmatic. But you know what, it's still MY car, that is being built with MY money (no matter how little there is :cry: ) so it doesn't matter to me what other's say. Let this kid do what he wants with his car. You can make suggestions to him and maybe help him out. Why not convert instead of condemn?

I bought my car because 2 of my friends had 240's and It was before the were popular and drifting was "cool" or whatever, I don't really think I am a bandwagon jumper as I have never wanted to put an SR in it, becuase that is what you have to do or whatever, but I just want my car to have my style and if someone else doesn't like it they can fuck themselves....and I don't care if someone else's car is "Rice" or whatever because I need a good laugh every now and then, and they might think its cool and if it makes them happy then whatever, its not my problem. Thats just how I feel about the whole scene

im in high school hell i dont even have a license yet, i bought my car, because i liked 240sx's i dont know of anyone who buys a car because other people think its cool, usually people buy htem because they think the one in the magazine looked cool and they wanted on like that... and that in my opinion is not "jumping of the bandwagon"

bandwagon jumpers will either love it or leave it.
cars are money pits. when you sell your car you never get much or any of it back. usually ricers are the ones who learn this lesson first. if you spend gobs of money on your car, it's for your own enjoyment. not for impressing other people.
