So a family friend, my dad's friend, sadly cannot work on cars anymore and he asked if I wanted his GT2876R he bought for a turbo dodge project he was working on and had to stop.

Generally I read that for a late model Z31 people convert to T3 and the T25 seems to be frowned upon. I was wondering if this turbo would work efficiently, if so i'll tell him i'll have it otherwise i'll see if he would give it to someone else.

I have nothing against swapping over to T3 but if this would work well then why pass up a free turbo?

He said it has a 86 a/r turbine housing.

He also had a 2860rs but I believe that would be very inefficient for a 3.0l engine at high rpm.

It's definitely a pretty small turbo for the vg, but I think it would still work. If you're not shooting for big numbers with high boost, you could have an extremely responsive zippy engine that still packs a bit of a punch. And hell, for free, why not!

Like the guy above said. Free turbo, so why not?

You won't be producing face-melting power with that turbo, but it will still be fun.

If you have a z31 88-89 turbo, it has higher compression and uses a T25 similar to that, but still uses a T3 flange...

Sooo if you modified the manifold or made an adapter, it would work nicely on a 88-89T
