Crutchfield is a good place to "look", but not buy.
OP, shoot me a PM if you want to talk nav units. Alpine has a really killer piece that was just released a week ago... it's easily the most affordable Alpine nav unit ever released.

I had some type of Panasonic one. It worked well. Perfect for watching a movie while driving to Willow Springs.

Plus you can setup the Galaxy with some nifty apps that allow you to to connect to OBDII scanning systems using Bluetooth so you can keep an eye on some engine parameters :) Look forward to this feature soon.

Check out http://www.sonicelectronix.com/
I get all my stuff there. Practically next day shipping and all the accessory BS is free. It will save you hundreds over buying from BestBuy or the likes.
As for DVD Navi? Pass. Shits gets out dated soooo quick anymore. You really are just better off making sure you have a USB port to charge your phone and a good phone mount. Run Google Navi and bamn I saved you a butt-load.

They each have their pros and cons. A lot of my customers have me mold in tablets then quickly realize while the coolness factor is spot on, it doesn't quite operate/function as a car audio head unit replacement as well as they intended.

I can't see it working very well as one. I'd imagine using a mini-iPad or something like a Galaxy Note 8.0 that is then wired into an actual head-unit would work best. This gives you a groovy touch screen to scroll through all your music and even run video and internet - but then you have a real head-unit putting out the sound.
