Whassup guys,
So I just recently bought a 91 240sx. I did all the main engine maintenance needed as soon as I got it and the next on my list was to do the clutch as it was seeing its last days. I never installed a clutch myself so just to be safe I took it to a shop. I bought the OE replacement exedy clutch and had them put that in and resurface the flywheel. Now I just got it back and the clutch feels a lot more responsive but my RPM's now shoot up and then drop back by themselves and the car feels like it has less torque. The mechanic didn't know what was wrong with it and I couldn't really help either. Can someone help me out?

Sounds like the new clutch is slipping...

What's your advice on what I should do?

1. Adjust the master cylinder connection to the clutch pedal. Screw the shaft of the cylinder into the clutch pedal, thus making it shorter, thus making the clutch pedal extending more of the clutch piston out.

2. Bleed the clutch system.

3. Put the car in fifth gear and let the clutch out slowly and see if the RPMs dip.

If the mechanic who did your clutch job doesnt know what a slipping clutch feels like he shouldnt be a mechanic

haha he honestly did a horrible job, he had no idea what to do to fix it or anything he just stood there. Needless to say lesson learned and I think this is a good sign to learn that I need know how to do my own clutch
