Agreed.

The last thing you want is for your drift missile's ball joints to separate - MID DRIFT!

As for the OEM one - As I recall, it only comes attached to the control arm and that's like a $180 set.

NissanParts.cc - Your #1 Source for OEM Parts and Accessories (http://www.nissanparts.cc/parts.php)

Down for maintenance, but when it's back, check it out.

MOOG balljoint for 50? You can buy the whole MOOG arm for 40 on amazon.

You said you need the arm anyway, why buy separate and expensive bits, when you can get one quality one?

I'm guessing you have an S13, in which case the front ball joint is Moog K9509. Amazon has them for like $32, most other online parts sellers should be somewhere around that price.

There are also complete 'replacement grade' LCA's floating around for S13's, Dorman seems to be one of the more common brands - although be careful when buying 'replacement grade' LCA's as many of them are cheapo China units, so you're probably not going to get the same life out of them as a stock arm.

Snapped my tension rod on my 1991 240sx and I'm also needing to replace the lower control arm as well. Both the ball joints are bent too so does anyone know the OEM part numbers for them? I'm not wanting to pay $50 each for moog ones if I don't have to...thanks.

1. Definitely a case of CFS- For the record, OEM Nissan parts generally cost more than replacement parts- And to replace a control arm or ball joint, you need to purchase the whole assembly as stated.

2. How do you bend a ball joint? They either get completely loose/blown out; or in extreme cases, they snap.

3. If you are replacing a lower control arm, I highly recommend you replace them both... may save you some alignment woes down the road...

**I have Moogs on all four corners and love them too!

It's odd, first you said it's not possible, then you turned on OP.

Bit grouchy? Someone needs to be wrong?
