Hey people.
I've got a 2001 Nissan silvia s15 spec-r and as I backed out of my drive way last week the abs light came on.
I want to know if it has an abs control unit and where it is so I can diagnose what the problem is if that's possible. I can't afford to have a mechanic plug their computer into it to tell me.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

The abs controller is located on the same bracket as the ecu. There is no way to test it without a computer. If the brakes are working fine, i would say it is more possible for a sensor near the hubs and diff to be fucked up

abs is sort of a complicated system so best bet is to have a computer read the code from the abs controller

the light could be from a few simple things

check the 10A abs fuse
check the 30A abs fuse in the bay
check the connections
check the wiring harness connected to the abs unit
its near the exhaust manifold it can melt

or you could just remove the bulb for the abs light and drive the car without abs since they're kind of crappy anyway

good luck here's the s15 fsm if you want to work on it yourself
