Fr Sport was realy helpfull with my problem ... they gave me the mesurement from the alt pulley spacer that i lost in the process of fixing the power steering pulley
those pics are from my engine tech thread : http://zilvia.net/f/editpost.php?do=updatepost&postid=5379077
ok here is the deal ... i bought a pulley set from fr-sport ... it came with 4 pulley Inside . (water pump , power steering , alt , ????)
http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa74/rbs14kouki/Sr20vet%20built/image-21.jpg (http://s202.photobucket.com/user/rbs14kouki/media/Sr20vet%20built/image-21.jpg.html)
when i instaled the power steering on the engine nothing was lining-up
http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa74/rbs14kouki/Sr20vet%20built/image-6-1.jpg (http://s202.photobucket.com/user/rbs14kouki/media/Sr20vet%20built/image-6-1.jpg.html)
i figure out the problem ... it was the right size compare to the stock one but was machined like a ka24de pulley :wtf: megan racing
here is a picture to show how it was machined
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8462/8027464158_6befbff726_b.jpg
if i flip the pulley (to make it fit for the sr configuration ), with how it was machined i couldnt bolt it . the shaft of the power steering pump wasnt long enough
so i machined down the exterior face of the pulley to have enough thread stiking out ... when i bolted the pulley for the first time , it wasnt seating right .... took my stock sr pulley and mesured the Inside spacer that was built-in the stock pulley (5mm)
from how my pulley was made i only had to do a 4mm spacer
now it perfect ...

my manifold finaly made it here today ... took a little longer from DOCRACE because of the new flange i made them do ! they even did a raceport on it from what i was told :D
here are some pics:
i over laid the vet exhaust gasket to make sure everything was spot on ... guess what , its perfect

Looking good mate. Whats your goal for the engine HP?
I'm owning 3 darton sleeved Blocks now and I must say i am more relaxed knowing it takes a lot to crack the cylinders/go oval, which is the problem with the OEM blocks.
Really good looking house, and I like your Wife's car!

If i compare to my friend sr20vet ! Hes making 425whp on a mustang dyno
I should get the same out of my set-up if not more
I have a better intake manifold and a turbo jut a bit bigger ! During the winter i wana get a set of p12 cams too so will see how it goes !
As for the sleeved block i went with my tuner advice ! He ran is sr with a gt35 for year over 30psi of boost and never crack a cylinder wall ! He said that under 550whp its not needed
He switch last year cause hes at 40psi and making over 700whp now ! Transmission became is problem so he switch to a g-force t-101

Freddy cut & weld to the vet intake flange

Im just scared of the housing size (i got brain wash by my tuner to go big and he compared the set-up from *dave briggs* car (who he tuned btw) but its a sr24 ! Im affraid of the spool time been to long
Again my friend (previus set-up) runs a .82 and he's full boost by 4k !

I don't know why you're scared about the exhaust housing you used, you have the same one. You may notice a few hundred RPM difference, but nothing drastic.
I have an .8x housing on mine as well, but I did that for more mid-range and top-end power. I don't see a problem with having spool at 4k and running it to 8,500-9k rpms. That's a large powerband.

the 94 octane in canada is actually 101.5 octane (ron) with your system

your 98 is 98 ron octane. in n america we use ron+mon/2 to get 94 aki octane (101.5 ron 88 mon)

Brand new cd009 is around 2500$ in the state here in canada its over 5k$
If i remember the first time i looked around for gear the amount was around 650$
For 1 , 2 and 3 gear with new synchros
Its about 130 to 150$/gear depending of the size

Idk the auto tech one just seemed sketchy cause the guy wouldn't provide much information. And you only use half the bolts to bolt the trans to the engine... So do you only get half of the bell housing machined or something?

I dont have all the info with me !
My mecanic told me to machined down .500 where the plate is on the bellhousing ! This will bring everhthing flush ! I dont have info yet on the release bearing !

little up-date guys ... my friend that is doing my bell-housing just got back from a ski vacation in Chamonix ... so my bell-housing should be done real soon
anyway even if its done tomorrow i cant put it on ... i still need to buy gear 1/2and 3 with there syncro
since im waiting on my bell-housing ... i decided to check my OS Giken ts2bd clutch to make sure its in good condition ... i bought it used from a friend for 500$ . he did a rebuilt on it before he decided to sale it to me !
the clutch looks like its new , but i wasn't sure if it would slip or not because when you face all those disk in the clutch (not real number just for example) total machining .25inch ... you would need to take that off from the flywheel off too (where the *tower* is bolted down) if you don't you automatically loose clamping force

i found a friend on facebook that all ready did rebuilt on those clutch and thats what he had to say
from: Alek speedtek:
the way to check the flywheel is, put the whole clutch together Then let the top cover sit on the clutch with all the allan key bolts in But dont tighten them Measure the gap between the tower on the flywheel and the cover It should be 2.5/2.75mm or maximum grip Yours might have gone down below 2mm and that is when it starts to slip alittle
http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa74/rbs14kouki/image-11.jpg (http://s202.photobucket.com/user/rbs14kouki/media/image-11.jpg.html)
my clutch was at 2.01mm so i took everything apart and i brought it to a machinist to remove a bit of material from the flywheel ... it's now at 2.90mm he went a bit over 2,75mm but everything looks ok and the bearing should have enough stroke to disengaged the clutch completely ...

I just got my throttle from RMR and wow what a nice piece !!!!
Like i said before i had two choice for the q45 flange style ... 76mm or 82.5mm
I went with the 82.5mm for my set-up !!!
Bolt's right up to my mazworx intake with no majof problem . I just need to trim my throttle cable bracket that was all ready on the intake and design for a oem q45 throttle
I wont even have to port match the flange its all ready a perfect match
Here are the pics :
When i just got it out the box right after i got the package at the post office

I love the quality of your build, but any more insight to why you purchase alot of the parts ? :)
naturally a VE head is for reliability and power and it's just better than any SR20 head there is :)
But the q45 vs standard 76MM, we usually opt for 76 mm due to the pain in the ass throttle control with larger, if you experience it a eccentric wheel may help :)

Interested to see how the Z33 axles hold up for you. I threw on some used ones with those adapters and broke them the same day -_- but it might have been install error or something i don't know.
Would you happen to have a spare cd009 shifter assembly? I need one for my cd009, if it was shortened already for a 240 that would be even better! I want to run a stock shifter too.

What method are you using to run the z33 axles? A complete z33 differential? Or stub shafts modified with the Z axle pattern.

Any qualms about the Autotech adapter plate? I didn't like how it was only a half plate, and didn't go around the entire diameter of the bellhousing.
so far i only test fited the kit ... never drove the car yet
quality is realy good

you need to machine down the bellhousing and the starter just a bit .
here are some pics for anybody that want to run this kit ... i took my grinder , put the blade flat with the starter's face and i just grinded down the lip for it to sit flush on the plate

ill be runing maverick motorsport axles conversion kit ... i know it spaces the axles out abit + z axles are abit longer than s-chassis axles ... this is why i went with the Gktech rlca ... if i see im too wide in the back , ill just send my diff outputt shaft to the machine shop to make them in 6 bolt patern just like GetNuts Lab are doing

I'm saying N1 cams are better than the P12's and can be had for the same price. You don't need a huge turbo to take advantage of what the N1's offer over P12's.
I agree, P12's will be fine, for the moment. You'll want more.
Have you tuner sell me those N1's sitting around.

Mazworx made a video to help out

on my set-up i tried cutting before the second ridge ... to limit the gap in between the bellhousing and the transmission . it doesnt work its to tight
you need to cut right after the second ridge for it to get my result .. in the mazworx instruction they say to cute .25inch pass the second ridge but i dont realy like the result ...
it was cut with a grinder btw

i took all my rockers out ... took them appart (if you wana do this ... make sure you work in a clean area and if possible work on a white surface ... there is some small c-clip and springs in there that are super easy to loose)
so yeah ... took my rockers appart . all you need to do is replace a pin for a longer one ! instead of having a oïl pressure pushing on the pin , i had some pins machined longer to fill in that gap and this makes my vvl locked on all time

to answer any questions in advance ... my tuner Pat Dumont from Acsp tuning as the fastest sr-powered street s-chassis (with a h-patern box) in the world ... he his also running a sr21vet with this mod ... he made alot of test on his car and some other clients cars to back this up ... there is not enough oil pressure to advance the vvl engagement Under a certain rpm ... after alot of test we found out that the sooner you lock the vvl on the sooner the power curve go up ... so our only option left was to mecanicly lock them
remember my car is a full on racecar and im not looking for fuel economie ... if you want to dayli your car , i dont recommand this mod unless your ready to loose alot of fuel economie

Why rig something in the rocker arms when you can buy VVL killer cams? Seems like backwards logic to me. P12 cams aren't the greatest setup for a what you're trying to achieve.
Either way, love seeing progress.

Vvl killer go for 1500 for me since im in canada and my currency is shit ... i saw some set-up with sr16 and p12 cams that made great power . Anyway for 400$ its gona be night and day vs my stock p11 cams
Kemp s13 had p12 in his car and it was crazy ... and doesnt that z33 sr22vet has them too ?! Not sure on the z tho
184-st are sick but the same price as vvl killer .
If ever i get a good deal on a set of kelford ... i can always switch back the pins in the rockers and rock the vvl again . My mod is not permanent

I got the cams for 400$
Vvl killer go for 1500 for me since im in canada and my currency is shit ... i saw some set-up with sr16 and p12 cams that made great power .
I'm not saying P12 cams are bad, curiosity my dear Watson. I believe I've stated it before that N1's are ideal for a medium/large to large frame turbo. The increased overlap helps with spool. Anyway carry on, everything looks great.

lil update . im in the process of installing my p12 cams
my head was shimed for p11 cams so i need to change my shims to be in spec for them to work 100% .
here is the shims all mesured up . i still need to do the feeler gauge and with this spec it will give me the right spec for my new shims .... for anybody with a ve head ... harley Davidson runs the same shims in there bike ... i also found that ktm runs a 10mm shim in there bike too and they sale kits on eBay for dirt cheap vs the harley option

last week i did a sr to vq swap with the Autotech plate i had laying around on my friend s14 .
https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/14362468_10155271533274616_8447083105437179466_o.j pg
here are the spec i took of the transmission and engin to calculate the air gap that was needed in between is clutch and bearing
target was .200in !!!
we had to put a spacer or .490in inbetween the bearing and the carrier ... but from doing this the carrier we had wasnt long enought and the bearing had no more surface to seat properly .
to correct this situation we took the z33 carrier welded it back to back to our sr 24mm carrier ... cut away the portion where the fork attaches .
it looked like this
https://scontent-yyz1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/14500748_10155306382214616_1458075442459893925_o.j pg
we machined everithing back to spec :
- outside diam. 40mm
- Inside diam. we left the sr carrier section un-toutch but the z33 portion we welded on had to be machined just abit loosser (from the weld line to the extremity) . that way it wasnt grabing on the shaft where it slides
slip on spacer was .490in thick (inner diam. 40.10mm) ... that way it can slip on without pressing it in for mantenance or to changed the set-up later on .
then re-installed the bearing

why didn't you just order a d40 frontier throw out sleeve? its 8mm longer than the sr20 one (approx 1/3"). i guess it would have been 1/6" off your target air gap though.

For a twin disc you should need a shorter TOB, probably like the stock sr20 one. In my case (maverick adaptor plate, sr20, milled 5/8" off the face of the bellhousing, ACT heavy duty single) I will be using the D40 TOB since the normal sr20 one leaves a massive air gap and.

Before you instal everything why dont you double check just like i did ... its gona comfirm if you have the right combo ...
I installed a cd009 with mazworx bellhousing 5x to get thw right air gap . I didnt know that technique back then !
My buddy left with is car yesturday (drove in the street to make sure everything was working good . Massive garage burnout).

I'm using the Mazworx bellhousing for mine, along with an OSGiken TS2BD twin disc clutch. I ordered the sleeve that OsGiken recommends to use for s13, with the stock s13 trans, since the Mazworx bellhousing uses the sr20 trans fork/ball/sleeve etc normally. I'm hoping this will give me the correct gap, but we will have to see when I get it all put together.
Also in the OsGiken instructions they say you have to shave 4mm away from the shaft inside the bellhousing that the throwout bearing sleeve slides on, or else it will hit the pressure plate of the clutch. I'm not sure if I'm going to have to do the same thing to the Mazworx bellhousing but I really hope not. I'm going to try to install the clutch, and then the bellhousing by itself and see if it hits the pressure plate. If not I'm hoping that the Sleeve I ordered gives me the 8mm gap between the bearing and pressure plate that they recommend.
edit- If you want part numbers for the sleeve/bearing I ordered for my setup for archiving purposes I could look them up when I get home.

8mm is .315in
On the setup i just did . I was aiming for .200in but it the end the machinist that did my spacer wasnt 100% on my specs ... we ended up with .300 air gap and its perfect on our set-up
We Installed everything and he drove away . I Was happy i didnt had to fuck around to make it work like the first setup i did ... do it once , do it right

Why do you need to use a solenoid relocation if you have Custom made VVl lock pin vvl killer? isnt the solenoid used to lock the pin at your desired RPM? Why wouldn't you just block off the holes? Still trying to learn about this head swap before I get it.

The cage is in process at #avfabrication (https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/avfabrication) . We made good progress in the last 2 weeks even tho we only work 4hours a week on the car .
With the shop almost at full capacity and with big project cars, its just normal that we only work on my car on the sunday's ... clients come first and leave pleased from the shop , that's our number one goal .
Next step is to had some more bracing and then drop the cage to weld the top . After that we attack the transmission tunnel and seat position before finishing the rest of the cage .
