I'm hoping this should be easy for anyone who has the OEM alarm. Is there anything that mounts to the hood to help depress the rubber boot on the engine bay-mounted factory switch? The Nissan FAST diagrams only show the switch - nothing on the hood. My 3 Series has a plastic boss where there would normally be a plastic rivet to hold the hood insulation. This thing pushes the switch down. Car's apart right now so I can't test the switch. Thanks in advance!

Yes, there is a rubber grommet that depresses the switch when the hood is closed.

This photo is of the only snubber I don't have on my hood but Nissan FAST and this site show it on the opposite side of the hood. Since it will take a week or more to get it from a dealer, could someone confirm this is what they look like since I have no reference? Thanks.

Hey I appreciate the responses. I'm going to get one of those with my next nissanparts.cc order and I'll let you all know the results. Being a "completist" for some of this stuff is a blessing/curse! - Teddy

No worries. I had issues with the hood alarm when I first bought the car. I was either missing or it wasn't depressing the hood switch all the way and in the middle of the night the alarm would go off. If there was a bit of a breeze, the alarm would go off, drove me Nucking Futs for awhile, until I figured out what it was.
