I am upgrading transmissions and need an adapter plate/bundle. I researched and found maxworks had them but now doesn't carry them/ or i cant find it on their site. i know frsports has one, but damn $1000 for a cnc'd plate, some bolts, a starter, and a heavy ass drive shaft doesn't tickle my fancy at all. Is there any place else that makes these kits?

For what engine?
Any place is gona be around $300/350 for a custom driveshaft, bellhousing is usually $400 or so, rebuilt oem starter easy $200. If you don't wanna spend a grand ...pray, just maybe someone will be selling a setup they don't need for cheap.

I saw em on mazworx as well just no pic attached. If anything call.
Fyi a ka24de trans bolts to a rb block minus 2 bolts. One isn't even present on the Rb block and one top one is off by 1/8th of an inch or so.
A rb25 bellhousing bolts to a z32 trans, rb25 bellhousings can be had for $250 the rest is wether you feel you have the skill to figure the rest diy.

You can contact Collins Performance Technologies, they should have one
Collins Performance Technologies - Adapter Plates, Adaption Systems for Race and Street Vehicles (http://collinsadapters.com/)
Also you could do a 350z trans, strong gears, newer box with lower mileage, super easy to find, and generally a few hundred $ cheaper than a 300z box.
Plus is 6spd so its real cool haha

I have the xcessive kit and I honestly wouldnt buy it again. mazworx is who im switching over too. first part was the starter. finally got finished after weeks of fighting with it replacing it and what not. then moving on to the spacer they have you put behind the flywheel. the pilot bearings keep falling apart and I think the spacer has the trans at a weird angle or isnt truly flat because im tearing up tranys left and right for no reason car is only making 325 right now.

Whoever first makes an affordable aftermarket gearset for the KA/SR transmission will probably see decent profit.
A Z32 transmission is just a Band-Aid. A big heavy Band-Aid that someone else has worn already.

so you are sayin a big NONO to xcessive kit?
i see your sig says you are on a Ka-T. Prolly shouldnt be too much different to a SR setup which im tryin to decide btw xcessive or mazworx for my z32 tranny onto SR conversion.
I was questioning on that damn spacer plate thing xcessive ues...that looks hella sketch.

If you have a ka
Get a rb25det tranny ! Its bolt on
You will need to trim you shifter hole abit cause the shifter is abit more forward.
Or if you want the perfect fit ! Rb25det bellhousing on a z32 tranny ! This will bring your shifter in the perfect plcement with the excessive shifter bracket

The only reason I could see you or anyone say it's a bandaid is because they are generally old and have had their fair share or use/abuse.
However, the Z32 box is very stout and they have seen high hp/trq setups and only asked for more. The gear set is very strong but the synchros are the weak link. If you find a Zbox or plan to run one, it may be in your best interest to rebuild it. You won't have issues with it then. You also don't have to regear your diff to take full advantage of the CD009 trans.

Indeed, but it seems that a lot of people do the conversion assuming they are indestructible, only to wonder why the old beat up transmission they used starts acting up after a few events.
I am not putting the Z32 box down, what I am trying to advocate is that we could really use a better aftermarket gearset market. I know there are already a few options, but most are quite overpriced for the US market and no one knows about them.
Anything under 450hp should be fine with the stock transmission and sturdier gears, without necessitating the extra bulk and weight of the Z32 transmission, not to mention it has the convenience of OEM fitment.
And the Z32 box could benefit from new gear options as well, since even it does not hold up to abuse forever, as Skyline owners have no trouble blowing it up.
And for the hardcore track kids, dog gearsets have no synchro issues. :)
I am seriously thinking about throwing money away on a PAR gearset if I go through another transmission and no one comes out with a cheaper set by then.

I know I could just do the Z32 conversion, but I really do not want the extra weight on a car that will never see over 300hp.

This is what the pilot bearings are looking like. they are coming out of the spacer and I thankfully have another motor/crank because the crank in my current motor is beyond repair to even use a regular pilot bearing from this tearing it up and just floating behind the spacer
