Get it tuned, you bumming somebody else's settings could potentially fuck your car up since not every engine will be the same.

Id say steve shadows but i have been waiting a,week for a reply regarding a tune. Dont know whats up but he is supposedly one of the best for a powerfc base map.

where did you hear that? he sent me a map after taking 100$ that was of zero use. it was also for the pfc. your better off starting with the apexi base map. after tuning the 'steve shadows' base map it looked almost identical to the pfc base map that i should of started with in the beginning.

As far as getting a base map for a powerfc without a,dyno im not sure who else would have more maps for sr/rb motors.

Injectors setting is fairly simple...
Read here and you should be able to figure out what to set your injector settings to:
Apexi PowerFC FAQ (http://www.paulr33.com/powerfc-faq/powerfc-faq.htm)
I dealt with Steve for a starting map, the timing map that I got from him was actually pretty good on my RB25. Just punching in the timing map and leaving the fuel map to the default PFC setting was a night and day difference in my case.

Yea Steve Shadows is good at taking peoples money. I tried him once in his shop in San Clemente and he honestly fucked up my car more then the way it came in, it was at least driveable when i got to the shop....when i left my car was fine at first but after 10mins of driving on the way home on the FW the car wouldnt rev passed 4.5k RPM ...He tried naming a bunch of things that might be wrong with the car instead of taking responsibility for what he did. i wasted over 600$ on him for nothing.
Now a person i would recommend is Koji hes the best Power FC tuner from japan. Look him up

I spent 75 on a,map. If it sucks then its a wasted 75. No big deal. Not sure how you guys, are dropping 6hundred and leaving with a fucked up engine.

The problem is when people bring in cars that has problems to begin with, they expect the tuner to figure out what is screwed up with it as part of the tuning process. You don't get a car tuned when it needs more than just a tune.

Yea getting a half assed car tuned is not going to work out for anyone. Tuning an engine will make any problems more apparent than before.
you can't tune a car over the phone man. i tune power fc's , been doing it for years, im not a pro, just making a few bucks on the side. i don't have a data file for you ( i suppose you have a datalogit to make use of it anyway?)
anyhow, here's how to setup your car so it can be driveable:
supposed you have a RESET powerfc , right?
for starters turn your ignition to ON, so the ecu has power,
go to setting> injector
there are 6 settings, only the first 4 matter in our case obviously
should be 100%. now, our stock injectors are 370cc and yours are 850cc so 370/850= 0.43. turn that 100% to 43%
the thing should start. now ideally you should enter the injector lag time correction on the other column, search by your injector part number to find that out.
The problem is when people bring in cars that has problems to begin with, they expect the tuner to figure out what is screwed up with it as part of the tuning process. You don't get a car tuned when it needs more than just a tune.
Nope 240o'clock is spot the fuck on, this is exactly how Steve Shadows is. One occasion I brought my car to fix a problem left worse off than I arrived.
Second occasion brought him a solid car and after he made corrections problems came up during and after be blames random stuff.
So any job the requires Steve to use a tool ended horrible.
And post like this just gives other people what to expect. Some people swear by him some people don't. I know he will not accept responsibility even when it's obvious he is the is the cause. Here's my take, and although he might be certified now.
People say tuning is important and I agree, but why risk letting someone who isn't a professional trained tuner tune your ish?
One the other hand I have let a professional Apexi excel dealers/ RH9 shop tune my car in Japan and my car was worse off.
So reviews IMO are the best way to go. (Which already exist, maybe a combine one by EMS would be better to kill these threads.
So far I have't heard anything bad about Koji and if he is still around, I plan to look im up in Jan 2014.
BTW I have Tomei RAS and I rev fine.

Yea my car didnt have "problems". My car had a freshly rebuilt tomei/hks top end sr20 and all i needed was a tune, my car was driveable and running fine when i went to steve's shop, I just wanted more power from my SR so thats why i wanted to get it tuned so i looked around and found Steve. After spending 8 hours at his shop for tuning i finally left around 9pm that night, at first when i left the car was fine but about 30 mins after (My drive home was an hour and 1/2 drive) the car wouldnt rev passed 4.5-5k rpm, i hit up steve about it and said just come by next time but honestly i wouldnt waste gas going back down there. I took my car to Koji in Orange County and he had my car fixed on the spot in an hour.
Steve tried saying my car wouldnt rev passed 5k RPM because i had Tomei Rocker Arm stoppers.....thats when i knew he was trying to bullshit me. I try and give people the benefit of the doubt when they have good rep on this site but this guy was a total prick and was just money hungrey. He told me at one point " I dont tune cars anymore i just do this on the side" Like trying to make me feel like he was doing ME a favor. Shit i learned a lesson that day, will NEVER go back to Steve. Im sure Steve is reading this right now because i know he remembers who i am, its just a shame that people these days have their certain "clientale" to keep him in business, and to everybody else they say fuck you im going to take you for what you have NOW and dont care about what you do after they have your money. My #1 tuning spot is Koji now, he fixed ALL my problems and is an honest upfront person, wish there were more people like him in this world...im glad hes in the OC near to where i stay.
im not trying to justify anyone, just say this: an ecu doesnt just stop working right after an hour, it just doesnt. obviously you had some electrical problem, it just happened to appear right then.

Have you tried contacting the person who initially tuned your car?
Maybe they have your tune on file?
