I'm getting a crazy loud whinning like sucking noise (best way I can explain it) coming from the turbo. I can hear it from the intake and if I remove the filter its even louder. Also gets louder as I rev. Any ideas? Turbo gone? Started after I stepped on the gas a bit on 7PSI.

Escaping of sucking?

Escaping check your gaskets.

It sounds similar some trying to learn to whistle but can'y get it down.

The fins could be bent causing it to whistle. Check for shaft play too, maybe bearings going bad and wheel may be slightly touching the housing.

Well just checked, 2 or 3 fins have the corner of them broken off... I don't know what could have caused that though. Never went over 7 psi while I had it..

Shit could have gotten sucked in...doesnt take much to damage them when spinning over 100,000rpm.

Is the turbo a series 1 or 2

The first signs of my oil pump failure was the sounds my turbo started making.
It was a whizzing/zipping noise that got louder with revs which was most likely the bearings in the turbo dying.
I'm about to post up a rb25 turbo for sale(not the same one that was dying lol)
Check out the for sale section in a few minutes if you're interested.

I actually bought one about 2 weeks ago. Been running strong since then. I don't think it was the oil pump but we will see. I did have the same sound you said but were your blades all chewed up?

No the blades were perfectly fine.
I got sent the wrong oil pump. I got a R34 rb26 oil pump instead of a R33 oil pump.
They are incompatible due to the longer crank drives found on the R34.
I had perfect pressure for 500 miles and then it gradually got lower until it wasn't reading at idle.
