Shit, I can't wait to get to Dallas then. It's $2.03 ++ right now for 87 in San Jose.

in hayward (30 min from san jose) the shitty gas station has 87 for $2.07.
it's like $2.15-$2.20 at places like 76 and shell
85 is $1.899 here in CO. BTW, we only get 91 as the highest grade at regular gas stations because we don’t need anything higher due to the altitude... :(

I haven't really researched; is there any main reason why california's gas prices are considerably higher than all the other states? As far as I know, it partially has to do with CA's strict environmental laws...but that doesnt really justify the amount of money we have to pay per gallon... CA oil refiner's taxes? Right...

Our gas is formulated differently (IIRC) due to evironmental regulation like you said. Didn't Shell just shut down one of their refinery somewhere (modesto, fresno, or merced?), this might be the reason gas prices is loc to the brain right now.

The ridiculous gas prices right now are more due to Wall Street speculation of oil futures. There isn't that much of an oil shortage right now.

aboslutely rediuclous in Cali...
But with all due respect, those in other countries pay approx. $4.50+ per gallon. If we, as Americans, paid what we SHOULD pay for gasoline, it'd be higher than that. The government foots about 1/2 the bill for every $1.00 you spend on gas. Be thankful for national debt.
