Hey guys , im about to buy a exhaust manifold for my vet built !

Im looking into either doc racing or a custom made by my builder !

I have a custom exhaust flange done by Taarks for the ve head *no need to have the holes for the bolts ovalised*

My question is with the design !? Is there any real benefits to have a forward facing maniold (just like fullrace and doc racing)
Is it just to fit a bigger turbo ??? I did ask about it to doc racing but no answer

Or a regular bullhorn type is more then enough ?

I have the ram horn style on my car and have a GTX3076 bolted up to it with plenty of room.

You didn't have to get a "special" head flange, Full-race and DOC offer the VE flange...

I knew fullrace had it ! But 1200$ plus shiping to canada is out of my price range !

That flange (10mm mild steel) was 40$ and i was all ready ordering my timing pin relocator , oil block and power steering relocator from Taarks

I did talk to the guys at doc racing via facebook ! He told me about port shape , that he as two (round/oval vs square) but not about the 1/8 correction in bolts placement on the flange !

Ill go with a ramhorn and save 300$

You get what you pay for... Full race makes some killer shit and it's warranteed for life. Besides, you want full stainless on the exhaust manifold, otherwise you'll be fighting rust issues.

Do not go cheap on manifold. every penny worth it when you see people getting their manifold cracked or failed in long run.

Chances are DOC race will offer lower price than Full Race but doesn't mean the less quality.

I am local to DOC race and used a few of them. Fitment is spot on and never had cracking issue. My first T2 manifold had small area of leak due to miss weld(1st gen manifold years ago) but they repaired it at no cost. Service is TOP NOTCH !!!
