I spent damn near over $300 to make this thing:

Ah well... sucks to be first sometimes.

well, i have been planning to copy you as soon as i get the cash. yeah business suck like that, but you had to know that it was coming, and that no company like that would give credit to the original R&D. hell, all they sell is knockoff stuff.

ssautochrome isn't a bad company. They have good customer service, and not everything they make is "knock-off". Their new KA manifold.. (not this one) is not a knock-off. I also know several very respectable 240 owners who have helped in the R&D of their products.

mimicry is the sincerist form of flattery :) AND you've aided me in my quest for a turbo KA manifold

me too, though it's not much of a quest right now. i've been keeping my eyes out for a good bottom mount equal length manifold, up until now i haven't see any. does that put the turbo in the same location as the stock SR, so you can use downpipes and intercooler piping made for the SR?

from looking at that page, it appears as thoug it will bolt up to SR downpipes. I really don't know much about turbos, but if it says t25/t28 turbos will fit...does that mean t3 and t4 turbos will fit as well...???

*-*

What is the best turbo I can use with that manifold? Does this also mean I can use SR upgrade parts (i.e. downpipe & FMIC)?

Damn I wish I didn't see this thread :/

It was actually PlanB. he and Kyle bennet 9guy running the SS autochrome group buy in the GB section) made the suggestion to SS. after seeing ACE's modifications to their mani they made their own. (remember Ace is using THEIR mani for his setup with custom flanges) so its been in the works and yes they took suggestions from what Ace did to his to make theirs work for other KA owners.

yes it'll use SR hardware. any of the T2 series turbos (T25 T28) and with their turbo extensions you can use an SR downpipe.

yup it puts the turbo close to the SR factory position.

maybe this is crazy but if u were really ahead by alot maybe you should patent and sell the designor something... i dunno *shrug*

damn is that your engine bay? looks so freakin roomy when the intake and fan clutch are out of the way...

interesting....I guess this makes it easy to start your own KA-T....the only problem I would have to deal with is fuel management.

cant copyright a design that isnt his. he used THEIR manifold. patents dont work like that and that design isnt theirs either Im sure. theres too many companies making manifolds that look just like it.

Kouki - yep you can even use SR fuel stuff too. sidefeeds still drop in ;) your only problem is tapping the oil lines and if you wanna run coolant to the turbo plumbing that in too.

interesting....I'm still thinking that tuning and timing has to be different from the SR. Something about the different displacement, bottom end, pistons, compression, blah blah blah...makes me think its not as easy as it seems. BAH...I'm just being a newbie. :-/

well yeah your tuning and timing will be different but thats why you have AAce posting what he's done with his setup. the HARDWARE got easier. software is a something different. and thats the key its different no harder no easier between KA and SR just different. secret services and JWT will rom tune you for either. SAFC works on both. etc etc etc

they should make it with a t3 flange, that would rock.

but i would like to see someone use this manifold, with the sr 02 housing and sr dp, just to see if they really do fit nicely.

SimpleS14

I would like to see some feedback from anyone using this manifold also. I will mos def do more research on fuel management and have someone with experience help me out.
