Hey guys!

Ive read through all i can find on this and some say it does work, some say it doesnt.

I have a 94-96 sr20det non vvt with E5 ecu, just installed it with wiring spec. harness, fires up no problem with the E5..

Since ive read so many places 62 and E5 and interchangeable, i bought the d-jetro pfc for a redtop(414-N020 SR2D20). (And yes, the ecu worked fine on the redtop it came off of.)

No lights in the commander and the fuel pump does not start.. Is there any pins that need swapping or any other reasons this does not work?

Thanks

If I remember correctly, there's 2 12v power pins that needs to go into the PFC to run properly. On the harness, sometimes, there is only 1 12v power pin and the stock ECU would work with just one power pin but the PFC needs both. You can usually just jumper that pin and run another 12v power to it.

Check the harness and make sure you're getting 12v on those 2 power pins.

Done and yea, both has power.. Im curious to what else it could be.. Found an old thread that says its easy to modify pfc to work blacktop to redtop or the other way around..

Yes, it can be adapted very easily. I do it all the time. And I am an Apexi Power Excel dealer. If you or anyone out there that has Apexi electronics or Tuning issues I would be happy to help anyone one.

I'm out of ideas :/

I read something about the apexi ecu not sending signal to the ecu relay. Dont know if this is accurate, but I thought id do a check on pin 4 which is for the ecu relay both with the E5 original which had 0.87v. The same pin had 12 something v on it with the apexi unit in when ign was on. Does not seem right i guess? Also with the E5 i can hear the relay "clicking" in the engine bay when i turn ign on. This does not happen with apexi unit. Any ideas what could be wrong? If this is the problem, any way i can force the relay to start, or bypass this some way?

That's the wrong code for the e5 model I will get the pfc djetro number off my ecu since I had an e5 and went d jetro. The e5 ecu comes from a 96 180sx black top in my case and with that info you can use frsport website and figure out what ecu djectro correlates

Yo Im aware its not for the E5, but the E5 and 62 has the same pinout, only diff is the o2 sensor. So it works, I have mine running atm, pin 4, which is the eccs or ecu relay signal does not work correctly with my pfc unit, so i bridged the relay first to see if it was pfc was workin at all, and it started up fine. The ecu relay signal just gives ground to the relay appearantly, so instead i just put in a switch that I manually use to give the relay ground, which does the trick for now. Thanks tho :)
