I can get some great deals on some low offset mesh rims, but i think they might be too low. can you tell me if i can put them on with out too much camber or will i need wider fenders. these are for a s13
Width Offset
1) 10 -41/-40
2) 8 01
3) 7.5 04
4) 8.5 -25
11.5 -31
or could you give me numbers or a width and offset that just meets the fender for front and back so i can use off set calc (http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html) myself
Thanks,
Jon

10 inches wide with -41 offset. You would need fenders like 3 feet wider. Think about it in terms of the stock wheel, its gonna be like 4 inches wider to begin with, plus it will be 81mm more pushed out. Thats a shitload, and camber will not fit those ones in. Yoru number 4 choice will also be a lot of work, to make them fit, if one can do it at all. The other two wouldnt be quite as crazy or difficult.

ok, your choices are freaking crazy, lol, 2 and 3 are not bad, accually pretty good, youll need some fender rolling/pulling, or fender flairs/wide fenders to fit. for some reference, i have 16x7 0 offset enkei mesh, here is a picture of my car, the fronts, have a 16 mm spacer, so the fronts are like -16 offset, the rears have no spacer, and are 0 offset, im also running -3.5 degrees of camber up front, and -2.5 in the rear. the fronts, i had to remove the spacer so that they would not rub, and the rears i had to roll the lip so that they would not rub, and remember my wheels are only 7 in wide, your talkin bout 7.5, and 8 so the 7.5 would prolly be near what my 7 is with the 16 mm spacer, which is no good on stock fenders, i drove it around the shop i was at, and had to remove them imediatly cuz i couldnt turn the wheels without rubbing.

offset only used for open top racers...i think....too low to use for daily driving....even on s13 chasis....for normal people..

ya i would have to be with you on that one...
It sounds like faces that have been reversed. 10" +40 makes sense, 8.5 +25 makes sense as does 11.5 +31... although 11.5 could go either way, since you need a relatively low offset to clear coilovers anyway. (depending on car) ... There's a possibility that you can reverse the faces from what the claimed offsets are to reach these (my mentioned) offsets.

He's talking about mesh wheels though, probably SSRs, which are notorious (in my mind) for coming in crazy negative offsets like that. Check out YahooJP auctions, widths and offsets like that are all over the place.
Case in point:

thats some crazy lip... actually ugly in my opinion.. the face is soo far in the wheel that it'll look nasty.. is the weight even properly balanced throught the wheel? it looks like its gonna break off.

Is it me, or this "low offset revolution" is getting ridiculous.
it's not more ridiculous than buying 17x7 +40 wheels

those are a little more reasonable, the 7.5 -5 would still need some pulling, but if you could get a set of the 7 +13, you would be good to go

what about 9j -13? for the rear?
jonnnny23
05-03-2004, 06:17 PM
ok this should be more reasonable
9 +25 Front
9.5 +25 Rear
or should I go 9 +25 all around?
what car is this for? S13 or S14? It's obvious you have no idea what you're talking about... you should go read up on some offset/wheel width posts.
9" +25 all 'round will fit with stretched tire and negative camber, but 9j -13 will need an almost 20mm pull (assuming you gain 1cm by rolling fender) and some (a lot of) negative camber.
edit: 15*7 +10 front and 15*7 +5 rear JUST meets the fender (you need them rolled). Work from there to see just how far off you are... or to figure how fat of a blister fender you need.
