This is my wife's drift car and I need to get it running right before the weekend so please help!

Last event last month she was drifting and noticed a misfire develops at high Rpms. We pulled the coil packs and noticed oil in the spark plug tubes. We dried off the spark plugs but the misfire didn't go away so we quit for the day. It drives fine just cruising around. It used to happen only slightly but after a week it seemed to be happening anytime the car built boost.

I replaced the plugs and tube seals and the misfire is now much less severe.... it happens at high rpms in low gears and hardly at all in higher gears.

Here is a video of full throttle in 1st gear. U can hear it. I let off too early in 2nd to hear it.

Any advice is appreciated!

change the plugs and change the valve cover gasket (and associated o-ring gaskets).

post pictures of the old plugs as well. also state what kind of engine (is this a chevy? jk)
how much boost, what injectors/maf/ecu etc.. could use more info

It might sound silly, but is your plug gap set too high?

Sorry its a stock sr20det s13 blacktop. About 8psi of boost.

Plugs are new bkr6e gapped to .032 and gasket is fixed.

you have a stock sr20 with brand new plugs at 8psi on a t-25 with 370cc injectors and a 5-speed (E5/J4 ECU). It breaks up at high rpm. Sounds like a boost leak, or failing coil pack(s).

Use a smaller gap, it wont hurt. .30 should be good... if it is a plug problem. But i doubt it is with only 8lbs of boost.

You can also try to undo every collar on your piping, wedge the hoses and couplers, then redo the collars. It could be a very slight boost leak somewhere. My money is on that, check everything boost related, BOV and FPR pickups included.

Check fuel pressure, if it goes lower than 3bar + boost when on boost, you need a new fuel pump.

replaced the coilpacks... problem solved.
