None of the above.
They all reside under Primedia's evil empire. Which means that they can't do performance tests of product vs product, and instead fill their space with pictures of shiny stuff, and "guides" telling you off a assload of similar products with no real information.
Anyone remember Sport Compact Car before Primedia got ahold of them? They used to do dyno tests where they would strap the car down on the rollers and to test with 5 different companies headers and report which ones were the best... but now all the losing company has to do is bitch about it and threaten to pull their advertising from Import Tuner/Sport Compact Car/Super Street/Turbo. That's why we now have "seat guides" and street racing stories instead of intake or exhaust comparisons :jerkit:
...whoops, went on a little rant there. Anyway, read what you want to, if you like pictures of shiny stuff, keep reading Primedia's stuff ;) If you want real world tests and comparisons, try something like Grassroots Motorsports

While I do agree that Primedia Blows, I still enjoy reading Super Street. Flame me if you will, but still like it.

Super Street is entertaining, not very informative though. Has anyone else picked up Car & Driver's new magazine called Boost? Its a brand new magazine that focuses on the import scene. It's informative beyond belief. They perform track tests on all the cars they feature in true Car & Driver fashion. And every other page isn't plastered with ads. I was impressed it.

"none of the above"
my sentiments exactly. those mags are nothing more than fanboy ricer propaganda. sure they have something cool every once in a while but they're crap even compared to the new SCC. i like numbers, statistics, and facts.
i don't need three flavors of the same vanilla ice cream.
Super Street, i like to read that because its pretty funny. SCC was pretty good, i still read them but, i dont really buy magazines like those anymore. I just jump on here and reed. LoL.

i hate superstreet. the articles suck, they never have facts, and they are always doin crap in JAPAN. who the hell cares about one of ten million 180SX's that are fast and look cool in japan? do some coverage in america for God's sake. did i mention their writing sucked?

whatever....there's nothing wrong with reading those mags...and if you think your too good for them cuz your like such a good driver or you think you're all JDM Tyte or whatever...i dont see why every one here hates mags...they dont just cover ricey shit...they cover a lot of drift cars and Japanese shit.....Nomuken is on the cover of importtuner....i know every one doesnt want drifting to be mainstream, but it is....and thats fine with me...even a few members of this forum have been featured in some of thos mags.....like JDMrice....his car was in import tuner a few months ago....these mags also do have good covereage of lots of events...
Super Street is better then import tuner....never heard of turbo.

Grassroots Motorsports is the only mag I actually subscribe too. I pick up SCC, and Super Street, and a few others when they have some decent car porn, but that's about it.
Primedia IS an evil empire, and have DESTROYED SCC's tech side. I really miss those days.

I like Modified Mag. I was reading an articel on the Evo VIII RS and saw the same article word for word in two different magazines. Then in the article they talk about how most buyers use it as a daily communter and love the rear defroster, radio, a/c, ect. and call them wusses. Then at the end of the article they are complaining about how it doesnt have a/c and atleast they have a jungle package :wtf: . Hypocrites, I hate hypocrites.

Be on the lookout for a NO BULLSHIT low key drifter mag coming out in the summer. It's called
Ziptied Magazine.
Things to look out for
1. Tech articles, no bullshit
2. Custom fab
3. Featuring Track Whores
4. Canyon Driving
5. Locations and pics from all around the world (all over the US, Japan, Canada, and Australia)
Be on the lookout. If you know a hardcore drifting track whore, he's probably working on the mag. That's what makes it unique. It's made by the people that actually take their cars to the track, not by some poser ass bitch out to make money on the "DRIFT SCENE."
I just subscribed to SCC. I've only read a couple of issues before and i was pretty impressed. I like the tech articles they have about suspension....last cover i looked at had something explaining roll center adjustments but i didnt buy it cause i was in a hurry. I think it's mostly entertainment anyways. If i wanted something explained, i usually come to Zilvia and ask smart ass people like Sykikchimp.

I like Turbo a lot. Theyre tech sections are pretty decent (im looking at the one where they give you the mathamatic equations and all to figure out a good turbo size for your application). Plus, they feature less rice; more race cars (ie: a 26B 4 rotor Twin Turbo'd BMW :aw: )
In this same issue, they do a fuel pump test..they compare about 12 differant ones and test all their outputs, as well as a bunch of other stuff.
Sport Car Mag is pretty good too, its by the SCCA. But ive never heard of Grassroots.

I like SCC. It's not perfect but compared to the other shit out there it's great.
Super Street is a joke. Terrible articles, unprofessional writing styles and WAY TOO MANY adverts.
I get a headache just trying to flip through it.

Grassroots Motorsports has no "bling" and deals mostly with SCCA-style autocross and roadracing. The lasted mag I have, they turn an MR2 into a track car, test Tein coilovers on an Integra R, 350z/240z comparison, fuel injector tech, engine coolant tech, etc.......
