okay guys, she ain't perfect but she's a relatively straight 1990 5spd with blue interior and fairly clean. the front right strut is gone, no radio, blah blah blah. i'm soooooooo happy right now. first it's going in to get the minor body issues fixed, then painted 350Z blue, then the multitude of bushings will be inspected and replaced. restoration before modification, sorta. anyhow, without further adeau...

i'm in liberty texas. a few miles east of houston and humble. i gave the girl bluebook value cause she wanted to sell it to someone who would fix it up and i expected it to need repairs of this nature anyhow. engine wise it runs great. they just put new injectors, throttle body, plugs, wires, battery, and battery clamps. the car has a lot of miles (162K) but it whips the SHIZZLE out of my cougar off the line. the front right suspension is squeeky and the normal creaks with an old car (worn bushings) are apparent from time to time. it's fine on the highway just a little noisey around town. my friend with a Z31 and specV is gonna let me borrow a radio for when i get it restored and mechanically kosher. i'm gonna look into getting a cheap fender to replace the dented one (prolly cheaper than fixin it) and a 91+ bumper since this one needs going to get painted anyways.
what color? how bout 350Z blue with a black roof? :)
it at least needs a new front right strut and bushings all around to be acceptable for daily use.
immediate plans:
1- shave the spoiler and fix minor dings all the way around
2- repaint or replace all the window moldings to that nice rich factory black
2- replace front right fender and bumper with 91+ S13 front (cause its cheap and nice)
4- repaint the whole car vibrant blue (that is the 350Z blue right?) with the top all black
5- restore suspension
6- black interior (it's blue and old now)
so at the moment i'm trying to figure out if it has HICAS (LSD's are nice). i've looked around but haven't found a simple explaination as to how i can find out if i have it on the car. anybody?
rock!

Ahhh....
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you for wanting to fix the broken bits, before doing serious mods.
Too often I've seem people do it the other way around.

you have a SE no sunroof congrats on a good car. No your car does not have hicas , hahahhaha, sorry for laughing. Hicas did not come on the cars till 1991 and it says it in a little decal that runs down the trim strip impression on the side of our cars. No you do not have VLSD but you can get it for a pretty reasonable price and install it.

your sources are on crack. hahahhaha , but seriously its a fact. Doubt it? just go down to Nissan they can show it to you on the computer. Hicas was not installed on cars till after 8/90. All cars assembled after august of each year by Nissan are next years models. I.E. if you buy a car constructed in the ninth or ten month of a year say 1990 Its officially a 1991 now that is where your sources my have been confused. Oh yeah and in Japan some options were availible on the cars prior to the American debut of those options.

well, ya learn something new everyday. the spoiler is getting shaved and the holes welded up when it goes in the body shop for dent removal. why would i need a replacement hatch when i can weld it? after that it'll be repainted then sent to my suspension guy for a good assessment of whats messed up and all that jazz.
so yeah, i'll tack LSD on the to do list...
edit: oh yeah, all the body stuff should be done in a month or two including color change.
