Alright so my isis tension rods are maxed out at 7 deg caster, and with my wheel set up and angle kit the wheel hits the tension rod. Now I'm wanting to get my caster to 8 deg, thinking this will help my problem. I know pbm tension rods have a ton of caster adjustment, but I got to looking/thinking, has anyone just changed the mounting point on the tension rod bracket? There is plenty of room forward of the oem hole on the bracket to drill a new one, thus increasing caster. Tried googling it but came up with nothin :(

gk tech makes off set tension rod bushings would that help

Well the guy that did my angle kit already off set the bushings slightly. I have thought about maybe taking off a little more material but you are limited before the lca starts binding.

If you did not buy random ebay junk (aka isis parts) you would not have ended up with S14 tension rods sold as S13 tension rods.

You can either get real S13 tension rods (i know circuit sports are), or chop your S14 rods.

These were bought from Enjuku so I'm pretty sure they are s13

Your tension rods shouldn't be maxed out at 7* of caster. I've ran 8* before and wasn't even close to maxing out the adjustment on my TEIN's. It sounds like you got S14 tension rods, or maybe the Isis crap is supposed to work for both, which will limit the amount of adjustment you have on S13. As for hitting the tension rod, I would look into the GK tech offset spacers, or maybe their whole tension rod. Since yours are not giving you the adjustment you want you could just buy a set of their tension rods that come with the offset spacers for more clearence.

Ya the rods say they are for 13/14 so maybe that's the issue. I have no problem buying another set, I just don't wanna spend the money and be in the same boat. I really was looking into the cor integration tension rods. Anyone had any luck with those?

Might be worth looking into the PBM LCA & Tension Rod Combination since it moves the tension rod mounting point inward on the LCA. I believe Battle Version has an LCA setup like this too and so does Ikeya Formula.

Another alternative is to have your LCA's extended by adding material in between the Tension Rod mount and ball joint.

Also, FWIW, you can probably make your Isis Tension Rods work, if you really wanted to. IIRC, S14 Tension rods are longer than S13 Rods meaning that if they designed the tension rod to work with both cars, it may 'bottom out' on an S13 before it would have on an S14. To get around this, you might be able to take the adjuster standoff (part that's threaded both Male and Female) and remove some material from both ends (I'd suggest turning them down on a lathe) which should allow you to pull the wheel forward more... The thing you'd need to check before doing this is how long the threads are on both the Rod end and LCA mounting part and compare them to the thread depth in the adjuster section. There'd be no point in removing material from the adjuster if the threads aren't deep enough and/or can't be made deep enough. You'll want to check to make sure that you're engaging enough threads at each connection as well.

Good idea! I may look into that. Here's what I was thinkin of doin though. This is a drift works guy, and he said he hasn't had any issues.

Moving the mounting point like that will change the suspension geometry. I wouldn't change the geometry unless you fully understand what you're changing and whether or not it is beneficial.

I wasn't sure if it would change it drastically since its just moving forward, but I will just bite the bullet and buy different tension rods. I want the pbm but there always out of stock

They are still ISIS junk, wether you bought it from enjuku or somewhere else does not matter.

ISIS dont make S13 tension arms. They make S14 tension arms that they advertise "universal fit" for S13 and S14.

Which is somewhat true; they fit. But they are S14 length and you need S13 length.

Just chop them, it is not hard to do at all. Better that than drilling your tension rod support.

Ya I didn't realize they were different lengths until you mentioned it. I think I will just cut a little off the sleeve

In that pic the tension rod mounting point looks to be moved about 2", not only forward, but also about 1/2" up. That's a HUGE change. That is going to affect all sorts of things...

He said he did that on purpose since his lca's are lengthened 25mm, it places the tension rods close to factory level when the car is on the ground.

Well I think I'm gonna go with the cor integration arms pretty soon. They are curved and get 8deg caster.

I was just able to get 8 degrees of caster out of my junk ISIS arms. They had to be perfectly centered between the left and right hand threads on the shaft. What im going to do in the future if i want more caster is cut the sleeve down like stated above.
