is it only up hills? is it only in certain gears?

check your fuel pressure. make sure you don't have fuel leaks (possibly at the tank) . also check vaccum. i've had the same problem.

Check voltages of your MAF. Check for CEL's. Do a run-down diagnostic per FSM specs.
Do a basic tune-up; its cheap and will get rid of basic problems. Plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, coolant temp sensor. Then start sniffing

Not sure if it is related to your problem but i recently had an issue with my ka24E hitting a "rev limiter" around 5k rpm when i was on it. It turned out it needed a tune up. I changed spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor but during the tune up i noticed that my cap and rotor were really bad so I may have only needed to change those 2 parts. Anyways gl.

maybe ur battery is not connected tightly onto the car? check for loose grounds

if the car is already running, the battery loose or not shouldn't matter cause the alternator takes over after the car is started. start off with a tune up, fuel filter, air filter, etc etc etc.
