Adventures in finding a 240!

as some of you may know i've been looking for a S13 hatch lately. i found one in my hometown in serious need of lots of TLC (quite a few minor issues). here's a list of what's wrong with it:

1 all the paint facing upwards is shot
2 typical rust holes from spoiler bolts
3 the engine has to be jumped off to even be test driven
4 THE HATCH WILL NOT OPEN neither key nor lever LOL
5 drivers side window will not move
6 busted control panel on drivers side door
7 dents
8 rear struts SHOT (like riding in a bass boat in a hurricane)
9 clutch slips
10 oil all over engine bay, probable leak
11 radio is busted
12 antenna is broken
13 A/C is broken or needs to be recharged
14 103000miles

the asking price for this bastardization of nissan engineering? *drum roll*

$2450!!!!!!

seriously... it gets better. i tell the guy that it isn't worth a grand so he proceeds to "inform" me that with the advent of the fast and the furious these cars are "hot items" in fact, this car is such a hot item that it's been sitting there for 2 months LOL

at the mention of fast and the furious i bursted out laughing and walked off. i told him it wasn't worth a grand and good luck finding a sucker.

when i get my GOOD 240 i'm gonna take it over there to show him.

i have two prospects in san antonio at the moment. hopefully i'll get her soon :)

That car will just sit there for the rest of its life...
The only way I am going to take that car from him is if he pays me 2grand to take it. ;p

hahahaha, thats crazy, i got mine a couple months ago for less than that, and mine was perfect condition everything, 87k miles, new clutch and all, but no ac. That guys insane.

I paid 400 bucks for my 240...lol it had blow shocks and the engine died 32 mile after i left the ladies house on a rainny Cold New England winter night while i was on the fourth lane of the Highway...lol :duh: You shouldnt pay more then 6 for that thing man...do you have lemon laws in your state? if so the owner will have to fix the car for you if the cost for everything is more then 1K

it's okay, though. i found one in WAY better condition and i offered the girl 1400 (prolly more than its worth) so that i can get first dibs on it. i'll post pics if the deal goes through :)

i just went back and actually read the last couple posts before mine... do you people even read half of the entry before posting? it's quite obvious that i have no intentioin of paying that godawful amount of cash for such a traumatized 240.

i just picked up another s13 hatchback, everything is oem. bran new motor from nissan w/ 70k on it, 170k on chasis, original female owner, 1993, no sunroof, no AC and no power windows chasis is straight as can be, never in a crash :)
price.....1000 dollars!

Yeah i was looking at this one 96. It had 128 miles one it, paint was crap, tires bald also the camber looked WAy off (stock everything tho), window didnt open, seats all screwed up, headlight was hit so it wasnt screwed in, fog light cracked, the the rmps didnt go past 4k cause he said the motor for the gauges was screwd up. But what ever this guy wanted 5800 for it and would not go any lower.

I paid $1600 for my 90 83k miles no rust, every last thing works perfect on the car. Only problem were miner dings and dents.

I guess ull hate it if i say...my boy just got a 90 pignose hatch running for $600. Got a couple of dents on the passenger rear panel, a bit of rusting on driver front panel ...and auto. But shiet...$600
