quick question about coolant system

if i buy a sr20det.. would i have to modify anything for the coolant system?.. assuming i got it from ebay..

No, you don't have to modify it unless you want to, when I originally put in my sr I simply looped the heater core line behind the head like most people do.

heater core line and coolant line must be different lines? because i know u have to modify the heater hoses..

RHD cars that these engines come out off, the heater cores are on the right side of the engine bay (when looking in), so the hoses from the back of the engine goes to the right side of the engine bay. All you have to do is modify the lines to come back to the left side of the engine bay. I usually just trim the lines down, get a U-shaped hose to get the upper line looping back, reuse some of the stock connectors and you should be able to line it.

yeah i seen some threads talking about modifying and buying the u shape hoses at the store.. and theres an S shape.. for got the last one.. which i dont know where it goes

Once you have the SR, you'll understand what we're talking about. Once you pull the KA out of your car, everything will make sense. The hard part is finding the hoses you need. There's probably hose kits now but all you really need is to go autozone and eyeball a couple hoses and just trim/cut it down to fit.
