This year for a term paper I thought I do something else besides econ-related for a change, so my general topic is American road racers and the Japanese Hashiriya(same thing as road racers). The only problem is i'm having a hard time finding information about the Japanese Hashiriya lifesytle. Here's the general outline of my paper:
1. Intro(who are they/what kinda cars/techniques/kinds of racers)
2 Who are they
a) American road racer- history, evolution from 50's to 2ks, the drags, the wannabe drift craze, american emulation of japanese
b) Japanese Hashiriya- ????? (help me out with this part)
The types of Cars:
1) American
a)Chevy-camero n' corvette
b)Ford/Shelby- mustang n' cobras
c)Dodge- Viper
2) Japanese
a)Honda- civic, integra, s2k and nsx plus the american counterparts
b)Mazda- the 7's plus the american counterparts
c)Mitsubishi- the evo plus the american counterparts(lancer)
d)Nissan- our most prized cars plus the american counterparts
e)Subaru- the Impresza plus the american counterparts
f)Toyota- the hachiroku, mr2 n' supra plus the american counterparts
Techniques:
1) Grip
2) Drift
Kinds of racers
Drift-zoku
Rolling-zoku
Roulette-zoku
Zeroyon-zoku
Van-zoku
Conclusion:
something like U.S. is emulating Japan, and Japan is emulating the U.S. racing cultures.
that's the jist of it all, if anyone has any links that might be of use to me please post em. And most of all if you have any info about the hashiriya culture and what's it like plz post it or PM me. Thanks for your help. :)
