Hey guys, i recently totaled my 240 and got horrible frame damage.. i know bumer... the engine runs great and suspension is perfect after the crash. only problem was that i blew a motor mount. but i just wanted to know if u guys think its worth fixing? i got an estimate from a local shop i got recommend to and they tell me its about $3500 to straighten it if they find the parts for the entire front end (including bumper with support, hood, pop up head light housings and fenders..) they also said it'd be about $2000 just to straighten the frame and i get all they parts,(which i know i can a lot cheaper..)

So my question is should i fix it or not? should i just get a new 240 without damage?? idk its killing me! haha this was my daily until i crashed it, so yea lemme know what you thing..

get a shell, you'd be crazy to fix it, (money wise) plus you'll be left with many spare parts you can sell. good luck sucks

Looks like you rear ended someone pretty good. I have some bodywork experience and I will tell you that your car is too far gone. It could be fixed but unless you have the time/experience and access to the tools to do it yourself its just not worth it. Just start looking for a shell, if you are patient and play your cards right you can end up with a much better car then you had for not much money.

If it drives and has no leaks.. its gonna be a easy fix.

Go home depot and buy :

yellow tow strap (25ft or 50ft)
2x4 / 4x4

find a good sturdy pole and a friend.

Park up to the pole, loop the tow strap around, strap other to where it needs pulling.
The 2x4 helps bring out the support evenly. The hook also pulls on tight spots where 2x4 cant reach.
Pull until its acceptably straight. Easy fix.
If you pulled too much, crash it back in XD

Rest is just finding the replacement parts like fenders, headlight and bumper. Get those first so you know where to pull everything. You wont have a perfectly straight car but its better then buying a new one.

Noone will no.. until now

Haha, the redneck frame machine! I used a modified version of this method to fix my old track car as well as my friends s14 and it does work. Chances are that you will not be able to get it perfect though so it all depends on how picky you are. If you don't care about having perfect fitting body panels or the chassis still being a bit off go for it, but if that kind of stuff bugs you get a new shell.

You could always use this method to get your car in drivable condition so you can use it until you find a clean shell to swap everything over to.

That's trash. Either get a new shell or a whole new car...

hmmm.. well if i end up getting a new 240 anybody interested in buying as is?

That all depends on how much. Better be CHEAP with all that damage...

I part-out cars all the time, but I'm cheap. If you're serious PM me...
