Just yesterday, I started hearing a bad noise coming from the rear end of my S14. It's a sort of metal scraping sound, that's relatively high pitched. It only happens above 20mph or so. My thought is that something is caught in between my brake pad and rotor.

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

That's probably what it is. Your brake pads might be worn down. The pads have a protruding metal piece that scrapes to "warn" you when the pad is almost finished. Take the wheel off and inspect it more closely.

see if your break shield is not bend towards your rotor if that makes sence.

is it coming from the passenger side? cuz then it's the wear indicator. i just tore mine off...i was yellin at it at the time..."bitch! i know my pads are worn down...shut the fuck up!" then i tore it's ass off and left it somewhere on the side of the road in McLean

Check your lug nuts just to be safe...trust me you should do it, Also dose the noise sound stronger on one side?

It sounds like the driver's side.

I could be wrong about the side. It's hard to tell, while paying attention to driving. What seems odd is that the noise seems to only happen at 30 or so mph (I tested it today) and not at all consistently. It does, however, continue as I slow down.
