I have a s13 sr, wasn't running when I bought it the kid before messed up all the wiring, So I got it all rewired with a new harness but the problem is it wont run with the maf plugged in it starts then bogs and dies I can keep it running with throttle but runs super rich....Unplug the maf and it starts and idles but won't rev over 2500rpms limp mode ofcourse if I plug maf back in bogs and dies....I have 2 mafs that came with it does it with both mafs...I have no history on the mafs....wiring is spot on, timing perfect, no vac or boost leaks, no led in ecu so not sure about codes.....could I have 2 baf mafs

How do you know the timing is spot-on if you can't even get it to idle right?

^ He said it idles fine without the MAF plugged in.

My advice is to recheck the MAF wiring harness, squeeze the harness and maybe even unwrap it to check for pinched wires shorting out.

That is by far the most common reason for what you are experiencing.

Other common reasons are you have the wrong MAF or the plug is wired incorrectly.

^^no he said it starts and idles. Without a MAFS signal, the base timing may not be where it needs to be in favor of keeping the mixture rich for limp mode operation.

Definitely worth looking at the wires tho. Sounds like OP is paying for PO's BS lol

try swapping your maf with someone elses and if that doesnt work check the wiring. worst case scenario buy a new harness from WS

If the wiring was that jacked you need to take off the valve cover and set the timing back to oem. Make sure it all lines up. Plus since your new to sr20s this will give you a good amount of experience and its relatively easy to do. No special tools or tricks. Just follow the numerous guides online.
And the idea to trace mafs with a friend is great!
