whats up guys? so i boosted my stock ka and tuned it with nistune on 7lbs. i put a topmount t3 w/ external tial 38mm WG, and it ran great for the last 10 months, no leaning out or any hiccups at all, i pulled timing in boost just like everyone says. anywho one day(4 days ago) i was getting on it and did a full pull, from 2nd to the top of 5th and it ran awesome like always. and so once i slowed down, i noticed i had a noise now kinda like a misfire or a gasket that was blown or something. also i'm running straight dump pipe. so i did the obvious stuff for misfire checking, i changed the plugs to new(bkr7e's) first, didn't fix the sound. i changed the wires, still didn't fix the sound. i just changed the injectors and still have the sound.
Also i must say i have what seems to be a huge power loss. almost like leaning out but i'm not. the car pulls and hits full boost and everything. but the pull is very weak. it just goes up in speed and rpms and the car gets louder(especially the WG)(like the afr ratios arent correct/ more air but not enough fuel is there so the wastegate gets louder with higher rpms) but doesn't pull like it should be/used to.
i also noticed that when i start my car now it makes a different sound during the cranking. but only right before it starts. so best way to describe this is, the first two cranks are normal sounding, then the 3rd crank is a weird sound then bam is turns on. the weird sound is like when you have a low charge on the battery it makes a zhew sound. lol
the ticking sound is only at load, like cruising then speeding up or taking off from a stop. it does not occur at idle or cruising. the sound does get faster with higher rpms. this is why i believe it make a bent valve. but ive never had any issues with the motor requiring disassembly of the head or anything so im not completely sure. any input or ideas would be great!!!
