This problem just started happening a day ago. It's coming from the top end somewhere in the valve cover area. It's not a knock, more of a rattle and only when I rev my rpm's around 3000rpms. I've never had this problem ever with this engine. I just had a new tranny and clutch put in and that's about it for recent mods. Please help and if you have any input lmk! Thanks :barf:
A link to my video of it running and the noise it makes!

And what would make you think its not a knock, as you can hear and see it increases with rpms as knock do. The quality of the video wasn't too good but sounds like a knock to me.

it could be timing you might want to check that if its coming from the head

+1 that's a possibility as well, give more detail. We can't exactly hear or see the car ourselves in person, belt slap is very common.

Yeah, I'm sorry guys. All I know is that it started a couple days ago, it's been bothering me and not normal. It never arises when I'm stopped or just sitting there but when I press the gas and it goes to around 2500 - 3000 rpms. And to me it sounds more of a rattle, not knock. And you hear the sound more towards the head nowhere else. You think it could be the rockers or lifters? Or maybe even just the chain hitting the guides? So maybe just remove the guides?

Rev it and listen to where its coming from more precisely, it will give yourself and us a better idea. You should be able to head if its coming from the head or the front of the block.

Well I'm sure it's coming from the head. It's sounds more clearer if I'm directly over than if I were to listen for it by the master cylinder side.

Ok there's a few things you can check, get a gauge and check you compression and also check your timing. What's your oil look like? Does it leak oil?

Alright, I can do that tomorrow and see how it is. Also, I've noticed some oil leakage from the valve cover gasket so I'm probably going to go order a new gasket tomorrow or something. I'm kind of broke right now so I'm trying my hardest to keep on top of my maintenance before anything else.
