After seeing Ace's setup im set on getting an SR T25 for my KA project.
The only thing setting me back is that a DSM buddy of mine has an extra 14B with NO SHAFT PLAY AT ALL for $100. T25's go for around that same price.
What should I Do? Rock the 14B, or hold out for a decent T25? I mean these turbos arent huge, but I drove my friend 1G Talon with about 14PSI and i liked it, it was VERY streetable, FAST spool up, pulled hard all the way to redline (he has downpipe, exhuast).

i dont understand how these guys make so much power on the stock t25??? i mean, the turbo can only flow so much air right? i mean, given all the exhaust mods the SR can only make an optimistic 240 at like 14 psi...isnt ace claiming 260?

Turbos max out when the turbine cant spin faster even when the engine is at its power peak and the wastegate is open. This happens because the efficency of both the compressor and turbine at these pressure and flow levels is too low create any acceleration in the wheels.
A turbo can flow more air at a given blade speed if it is making less boost. Since the KA has more displacement and higher compression, it can make more power at less boost, hense flowing more air, and making more power at the same rpm of turbo rotation than a SR.
A 14B is better than a t25. You would have to get a DSM flange, but dsm turbo options are at least as good, if not better than T2x options.

I think the SR T25s flow more than the DSM T25s, is that right?
So a 14B would be a better choice? I would like to get an equal length tubular manifold for my KA ... idk what to do

Ace just posted up his Dyno sheet, about 275WHP and 311WTQ
Crazy shit right? i think a lot has to do with that equal length manifold. I bet if he were using a log style his numbers would be down to like 255whp and 290wtq

and that additional .4 liters of displacement, and slightly higher compression ratio.

Thanks to Asad from the freshalloy forums..
"The info floating around is that the SR T25 has a 1.68"/2.12" minor/major diam. turbine wheel (or nearly maybe a 1.64"/2.09"). The DSM VFAQ says the DSM T25 has a 1.59"/1.83" wheel. It also says that the TD05H-14B uses a 1.93"/2.20" turbine."
I'm getting the 14B tomorrow and a 1G DSM BOV. muwahaha...
