Pulled the car out of tha garage today and drove it to work and at every turn it was feeling like the diff was locked. I get to work bust a few figure 8s and for sure this thing is locked up. No leaking from the diff. Feels like a welded. Anyone ever have this happen?

When was the last time you seviced it?
You might have broke a shim and it got caught up in there.
Take it apart and take a look.
Not a hard thing to do actually.

Here are a few write ups.
These are for shimming it but the steps and part numbers are the same

I put a new gasket on and re filled it with Royal purple max 75w90, about 500miles ago. Didnt touch anything else in the diff.

By definition the VLSD cannot "lock". Infact, it will never completely lock. They are a sealed unit and cannot be serviced. Pull the cover off and check it out. If you find something out of place, you may have found your issue.

If it is locked, it is broken internally.

Take it out before the damage gets worse and something really bad happens while you're on the road.

yeah the viscous liquid wouldnt "remain locked" i would also guess that something (metal) broke internally and is seizing up your diff
